In the framework of the Summer Courses "Rafael Altamira" of the University of Alicante, the Inter-University Centre for European Studies of this university organises, from 11 to 14 July (from 9:00 to 14:00) the Summer Course: "The European Union in the face of the great crises: the migratory crisis, climate change, Brexit and the economic and health crisis". This course is focused on the analysis of the most important challenges facing the European Union today. In particular, Brexit, the prolonged financial and economic crisis, the migration crisis, the fight against climate change and now, in addition, the health crisis caused by COVID-19. This course will provide students with an insight into how the European Union is responding to each of these challenges in the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The Inter-University Centre for European Studies (CIEE) with the support of the Jean Monnet Action 101047540 - EURA (ERASMUS-JMO-2021-CHAIR)  organises the fourth roundtable of the Series of Roundtables, "The European Union and the Right of Asylum", on the 9th of May.

The speakers at this roundtable, entitled "Immigration and asylum policy in the European Union after the war in Ukraine", will be Dr. Millán Requena Casanova, Professor of International Public Law and International Relations at the University of Alicante and Dr. Pilar Trinidad Núñez, Professor of International Public Law and International Relations at the University Rey Juan Carlos.

The Department of Procedural Law and Criminal Law of the Complutense University of Madrid announces the IV Susana Huerta Prize in Criminal Law. The aim of the prize is to encourage research by Master's and PhD students in the area of Criminal Law, and at the same time to pay tribute to the excellent criminal lawyer and teacher Susana Huerta Tocildo, the first Professor of Criminal Law in Spain and former Director of the Department of Criminal Law at the UCM.
