They replaced the main sewer line to the house from the septic tank and installed a riser so they could locate the main cover to the septic tank. They are very good and very fair priced.

Performed a septic inspection and pumped out the tank on a house we were buying. They were on time and professional. They explained their findings to me and emailed a report the next day. I would definitely hire them again.

  • Gage Home Inspections
    5.0
Mr. Gage was prompt, thorough, and patient when we had questions...we don't know a lot about houses so our questions were not the smartest but Mr. Gage was kind no matter how silly the inquiry and made sure we understood what was needed. He offered to answer any questions we had after the inspection and has done so willingly through email. I highly recommend Gage Home Inspections and will definitely use again

  • Zaring Septic & Drain Service, Inc.

We purchased an older home which needed a new septic system. David and his staff installed the new system in a timely and professional manner. Due to the historically high rainfall and flooding in the Lousiville area this spring, there were complications that our plumber tried to blame on the new septic system. David and his crew came out immediately to trouble shoot the situation. Long story short, the system was fine and the plumber was at fault for issues unrelated to the septic system. During the process of analyzing the situation, Dave was courteous and professional. He never tried to point the finger at anyone, but always stated that if the problem was due to the septic he would fix it- NO CHARGE! He was a pleasure to work with and his crew clearly take pride in doing a good job. Again due to the heavy rains we had, Zaring was unable to regrade the lawn right away, but promised to come out once the ground was dry. They were true to their word and called us to arrange a convenient time to come back before we even had a chance to call them! I can't imagine using anyone else if we ever need septic services in the future

My experience with them was excellent. They came in and did what they were supposed to do. They were courteous. I would recommend them to others. They came over at the last minute without an appointment; they came within an hour of me calling them. They snaked it out and got it all cleared out because there were trash bags all down in the septic tank. Everything is working fine. I thought I was going to get a bill of over $300 but I got a bill of $189. They have done a job for me before where I had a pipe burst in the concrete floor in this apartment that I had just remodeled. They told me if I wanted them to get to it quickly they could burst up the bathroom floor and go ahead and fix the pipe right where it was leaking under the floor or they could build a tunnel up under the floor from another hole to the bathroom and fix the hole without tearing up my bathroom. I asked them which one they would do and they said they would build a tunnel, so they built a tunnel, fixed the hole and then put some concrete back. They wrapped the carpet up in plastic so that it wouldn't get dirty. Their price was fair. I paid about $1700 for the concrete work and I watched them do the work. They had to take buckets and buckets of water out of that hole to fix that pipe. It was cold and they were wet and they worked for hours. I had already told them that I thought that I would end up paying them almost $2000 and I was close. They didn't charge as much as I thought they would. They were responsive and punctual. I would definitely use them again in the future

Septic Tank Service FAQ

  1. What are the signs your septic tank is full?

Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.

  2. How often should a septic tank be serviced?

Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.

  3. What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?

Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.

  4. How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?

Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.

  5. How much does it cost to install a septic system?

Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

  6. How long does a septic system last?

Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
