American Public University System (APUS) announced that Dr. Wade T. Dyke will be leaving APUS as President to pursue a new endeavor and that Dr. Katherine Zatz, the former Chairwoman of the APUS Board of Trustees, has been appointed Acting President, effective November 4, 2021. A nationwide search for a permanent replacement is being launched.

American Public University System (APUS) has appointed Dr. Katherine Zatz to chair its Board of Trustees, effective August 1. A long-time board member, Dr. Zatz succeeds Board Chairman General Alfred M. Gray (retired), the 29th Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, who is stepping down as a trustee.

AMU is looking to take the next step into the world of gaming by entering the metaverse. In this case, AMU is looking to become a part of the military metaverse. This metaverse is comprised of teams from each branch of the United States military that compete in national and international video game contests. As a result, there is a prevalent online digital gaming world made up almost entirely of servicemen and women.
