"I had a sewer backup in my basement, and originally called one of the rooter companies to come clear the sewer pipe. That went OK; they diagnosed the problem and gave me a bid for a fix. However, I scheduled appointments with several other companies to do their own camera investigation and give me bids. The bids and approaches to the problem varied widely, as did the cost estimates. Some of the repair suggestions (a interior pipe patch) actually would have made the problem worse. Clog Pro came out and did a thorough camera investigation, and recommended that the main issue was actually in the City of Portland right of way, not on my property...tree roots from a large street tree. The connection to the city main was impaired and needed a fix. I purchased the camera video from Clog Pro, and contacted the City. The City accepted the video and is scheduling a sewer repair. Though I may need further cleaning from some much smaller roots on my property from my landscaping, I am glad that the larger problem was diagnosed and will be handled by the City.

"We hired them to take out a toilet and replace it with a new one. The job was completed and the new toilet is in working condition. To make the job easier for them we placed any items around the area into the shower since our bathroom is small. This way they wouldn't have to move anything. Unfortunately, when the plumber removed the old toilet he set it on top of these items and it made a mess of the shower and these items. This wasn't just a water mess either. Everything was soaked in diluted urine. He was at our home for less than an hour and charged for an hour and a half. Thankfully, this company seems to be honest and they were willing to make this right. They adjusted the bill to reflect one hour of work instead of the one and half the plumber had claimed. We didn't ask for any compensation for the mess. I think this was a case of one bad seed in a company of good stature. Forbes Plumbing seems to come highly recommended in our area. I appreciate the fact that they were willing to fix their mistake and would hire them again; however, I would be sure to ask for a different plumber.

"Company answered immediately when called; our water was off for the whole house due to a leak in a supply line inside a wall. We wanted it fixed as soon as possible, so we were quoted the emergency rates, and our job was scheduled for at or after 4:30PM the same day. Thirty minutes after the first call, we got a call back saying one of their technicians was on the way (3 hours ahead of schedule). When the plumber got to the house, he introduced himself and went straight to work. He quickly identified the problem was with a part accessible from outside the wall, replaced the problem part, helped troubleshoot a leak that started when the water was turned back on, and was done. We were not charged the emergency rate, and he apologized profusely that it had taken slightly over an hour so he had to charge for part of the second hour. That didn't bother us at all; cost was still much less than the minimum cost of an emergency call. The plumber was courteous, efficient, and excellent at communicating what he was doing and why. We will call this company with any future plumbing jobs we have. And hopefully they won't be emergencies!
