The Founder Institute, the world’s premier pre-seed startup accelerator, welcomes applications from co-founders and teams. In fact, a typical FI Cohort contains roughly 40% teams.

Through the Founder Institute's challenging and rigorous process, pre-seed startup teams can get to traction and funding with our proven structured process, constant feedback from top entrepreneurs and investors, and global support network.

Do all team members need to apply?

Founding teams can decide to send one Co-Founder, multiple Co-Founders, or all Co-Founders to participate in the program. However, each Co-Founder must apply separately (noting the name of your company in your application, in the “Company Name” section). If you or another team member has already applied, just make sure everyone lists the same "Company Name" on their application.

Each Co-Founder’s application will be evaluated independently by our Admissions Team, and one Co-Founder gaining acceptance does not mean that their entire team is accepted. However, even if one Co-Founder is rejected, any accepted Co-Founders are still invited to participate.

How do the costs work for teams?

Accepted teams are invited to enroll in the program for a discounted Entrance Fee per-founder. For example, teams of 2-3 are invited to enroll for 1.5X the Entrance Fee, and teams of 4-5 for 2X the Entrance Fee.

Keep in mind that when a team joins the Founder Institute, the 4% pledge to the Equity Collective remains the same (it is 4% per company, not Founder).

What to Expect?

The Final Admissions Deadline for the San Francisco Virtual Fall 2022 cohort is Sep 11, 2022. All applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so the sooner you apply, the better your chances of being accepted.

After completing the application below, you will be invited to take our Entrepreneur DNA Assessment, which is our main criteria for evaluating applicants.
