Kaspersky statement in response to the publication by the U.K. National Cyber Security Center

Kaspersky has received its highest evaluation from customers on Gartner Peer Insights™ for its Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response. As of February 8 , 2022, the company has received an overall rating of five out of five, based on 33 verified reviews, with 100% of users willing to recommend the solution.

Kaspersky is the most recommended vendor among recipients of the 2021 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Security Awareness Computer-Based Training recognition. Kaspersky has released a new, story-rich, mobile cybersecurity quest titled [Dis]connected. The interactive adventure is a dive into the daily routine of a person in the near future who is on a quest to maintain a healthy work-life balance and be successful in both their career and relationships. To complement traditional security awareness training programs for enterprises, the game vividly demonstrates the benefits of secure behavior and can be used to reinforce what employees have learned. The game is suited for nationwide educational and media projects.

In the first three years of its MSP Foundation project, Kaspersky has achieved fourfold growth in sales among its managed service providers. In addition, the number of active partners has increased three and a half times since 2018, with significant growth in countries within Europe, North America, and South Africa. The introduction of a flexible pay-as-you-go monthly subscription payment plan, user-friendly License Management Portal for partners, and multi-layer cybersecurity product stack has made the Kaspersky MSP program attractive and beneficial for service providers.

Kaspersky’s researchers have uncovered the third case of a firmware bootkit in the wild. Dubbed MoonBounce, this malicious implant is hidden within a computer’s Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) firmware, an essential part of computers, in the SPI flash, a storage component external to the hard drive. Such implants are notoriously difficult to remove and are of limited visibility to security products. Having first appeared in the wild in the spring of 2021, MoonBounce demonstrates a sophisticated attack flow, with evident advancement in comparison to formerly reported UEFI firmware bootkits. Kaspersky researchers have attributed the attack with considerable confidence to the well-known advanced persistent threat (APT) actor APT41.

Despite the well-documented cyberthreat landscape, a quarter (24%) of UK businesses admit they are not spending enough on cybersecurity measures, according to Kaspersky’s latest report. With four in five (82%) UK companies confessing that that they have fallen victim to a cyberattack, the report titled: ‘Must-have cybersecurity insights for proactive business decisionmakers’, reveals a mismatch between cybersecurity budget and business risk.

Kaspersky experts have uncovered a new, rapidly evolving, series of spyware campaigns, attacking more than 2,000 industrial enterprises across the globe. Unlike many mainstream spyware campaigns, these attacks stand out due to the limited number of targets in each attack, and the very short lifespan of each malicious sample. The study identified more than 25 marketplaces where stolen data is being sold. These and other findings were published in the new Kaspersky ICS CERT report.
