Treat yourself to a bottle of the good stuff while supermarkets and wine shops discount prices

A glass of champagne is the epitome of celebration, whether it’s an anniversary with your significant other, a birthday toast, or just about any other occasion that demands some fizz.

Thanks to its luxury status, the French beverage is an indulgent, and often expensive treat. However, there are plenty of deals now at both supermarkets – including Asda, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrisons – and wine specialists such as Laithwaites and Majestic.

We’ve picked the best deals, which range from individual bottles to cases of six or 12 that are perfect for dinner parties or simply celebrating with friends and family.

Featuring some of the most well-recognised champagne makers, including Laurent-Perrier, Taittinger and Veuve Clicquot, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while bagging a bargain.

For tried-and-tested bottles, check out our guide to the best champagne to celebrate with on any occasion, too.

Taittinger brut prestige rosé NV champagne, case of six: Was £299.94, now £263.94, Majestic.co.uk

This rosé champagne featured in our review of the best, with our tester noting that despite Tattinger’s reputation, this is a “relatively well-priced” fizz that has “refreshing, red fruit flavours”. Thanks to Majestic, there’s a saving of over £30 on a case of six. Snap it up while you can.

Moët & Chandon champagne: Was £49, now £43, Asda.com

Few champagnes are more famous than Moët, and this 2013 grand vintage option has just had a great price drop at Asda. In true Asda fashion the supermarket has dropped the price by £6 per bottle. With notes of roasted chestnuts, toasted buckwheat, honey and nougat undercut by the scent of a fully ripe nectarine alongside dried flowers, it has quite the punch.

Sadly, Asda doesn’t offer any additional discounts when buying in bulk, so if you do wish to add multiple bottles to your order then go for it, but don’t expect any additional savings.

Laurent-Perrier ‘la cuvée’ champagne, case of six: Was £269.94, now £239.94, Majestic.co.uk

With notes of citrus, peach and toast, this is a fresh yet complex and creamy tipple. And while we’ve seen better discounts on this case before, every little helps, right? An individual bottle will cost you £44.99, while a box of six will save you £30. Or if this is already one of your favourite go-tos, then why not purchase 12 bottles and save yourself £60 in the process? Whatever you decide to do, there’s money to be saved here.

Château de Berne provence rosé: Was £13.49, now £9.99, Waitrosecellar.com

With a saving of 25 per cent per bottle, this rosé has quite a great saving. With notes of apricot, sage and rosemary it sounds just perfect for the summer months, and when buying in bulk the discount makes for quite a notable difference. A case of six is £59.94, and for 12 it’s £119.88, saving you more than £20 and £40 respectively. So, whether planning a barbecue, jubilee party or a big picnic, this should be one on your radar.

Piper-Heidsieck ‘sauvage’ rosé champagne, case of six: Was £299.94, now £209.94, Majestic.co.uk

As you may have already gathered, we’re quite fond of rosé champagne here at IndyBest, and with £90 off a case of six right now at Majestic, this bottle from Piper-Heidsieck is a steal. This champagne house has 235 years of history, so we think it’s safe to say they know their stuff. It’s a fresh pinot noir-dominated rosé with fruity hints of peach and raspberry, which makes it the perfect drink for a sunny eve.

Bredon cuvée champagne Jean Louis brut NV: Was £27.99, now £18.49, Waitrosecellar.com

Waitrose slashes a third off the price of these bubbles, whether you opt for a bottle, case of six or case of 12. The brut is made by the award-winning team from Champagne Lombard and contains pinot noir, meunier and chardonnay grapes. While it’s quite dry, it still has a smooth and fruity taste and would make for a lovely glass just on its own.

Champagne Bertrand Senecourt beau joie brut NV: Was £120, now £100, Harveynichols.com

Yes, we agree this bottle has quite a heavy price tag, but its stunning design makes it great for keeping on display – even after it’s finished – and wow your guests. But this striking design isn’t just for the eye; the recycled copper cover actually helps keep the champagne cooler. Taste-wise, aromas of pear, green apples and toast make it a fresh, yet powerful brut. If it comes in a bottle like this, you don’t need much else to impress us.

Mini Moët champagne and straws gift, four bottles: Was £68.71, now £49.99, Laithwaites.co.uk

One more for good measure. This set from world-famous booze brand Moët & Chandon is perfect for gift-giving – or keep it all to yourself, we won’t judge. Inside a sleek black carry box, you’ll find four 200ml bottles of the brand’s signature fizz and each come with their own straw to add a playful twist to the occasion.
