    Hardware still matters but to less and less people (as time progresses). Today’s hardware innovation favors scale i.e. hyper-scalers. “We have been gradually moving from Hardware optimized Software to Software optimized Hardware” Value has moved up the chain.

    It uses external tables to enable data stored in a Dell Object store on prem to be part of the data cloud. Of course an option exists to migrate that data to the cloud which is perhaps Snowflake’s longer term goal. But like AWS & NetApp, good example of Dell embracing cloud

    Dell Co-COO just announced a deal w . It’s a move by SNOW to expand its TAM for on prem & for Dell to expand its ecosystem upstream. My understanding is it’s a way to tap non-native SF data in place or migrate to the cloud.
