From softshell base layers to unbeatable down jacket outerwear
We've got you covered from skin to your outermost insulated jacket. The Summit Series™ Layering System was engineered to stand the tests of nature and time. Start your mountain gear with a lightweight, sweat-wicking base layer. The second layer is all about comfort with breathable full-loop fleece that reimagines lightweight warmth. Our crewneck long-sleeve goes under a Men's Summit L2 FUTUREFLEECE™ Full Zip Hoodie or a half-zip pullover, warmer than our usual sweatshirts and vests. Next, pull on a down hoodie mid-layer, then finish off with windproof puffers to add full weather protection. The top layer is all about elevating thermal performance with lightweight down. Plus, hand pockets make a great place to add an extra layer around your fingers on a break. On the bottom, pull on a softshell pant like our base layer tights under cinch-waist insulated pants or a climbing bib and you're ready to start your ascent. And don't forget to wear your insulated boots to the starting point.

Is the Men's Summit Series Jacket waterproof?
Yes. The outer men's Summit Series™ jacket layers are waterproof to keep out the damp of the snow as you climb. Our Men's Summit L5 FUTURELIGHT™ Jacket is fully waterproof while the Men's Summit L6 Cloud Down Parka is water repellent, filled with high-loft down that stays warm, even while damp. The North Face men's Summit Series™ is made for the mountain, and that includes protection from the snow.
