We hired Perez and Perez Construction for a commercial construction project in Oakland and are very impressed with their work and professionalism. Edwin Perez is a licensed contractor who has over 20 years of experience in this business. He is friendly, honest, and reliable. He is open to all communication before and after providing estimates and signing contracts. He listens to all of your concerns regarding budget, workload, timeframe, inspections etc. into account and gives you reasonable estimates. Once he gives you a bid, he sticks to it – and does so with a radiant smile. Additionally, the team that works with Perez and Perez Construction are knowledgeable, efficient, and always positive. The Supervisor, Edwin Carranca is always available in the event that Mr. Perez is not. Our project involved foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, Sheetrock, insulation and other general contractor work. All of the work done by the team was done so within the time frame allotted, and passed all necessary inspections by the City. We trusted Edwin Perez with most of the work for our project – He is transparent with the work that he and if his team can and cannot do. If there were additional jobs that were out of their scope; Edwin has trustworthy, licensed contacts that he is happy to refer you to. Overall, we are delighted with Perez and Perez Construction and would enthusiastically refer him to anyone seeking a Contractor for any job.

About a 6 months ago we started to remodel our kitchen with a construction company that at the end, they left the work in the middle and it was no less than a horror story! So we ended up with worthless unfinished kitchen and with defiantly zero trust in those companies that care only about the money. We didn’t have any additional choice but to look for another company that can come over and redo the entire kitchen and to make sure that we will not have the same problems as we had with the other one. We met with lots of companies and at the end, we decided and after many meetings and researching, we hired Luxcess Home by SOD Builders for our project. One of our previous neighbors told us about Luxcess Home by SOD Builders great things so we decided to give it a chance. It has been 5 weeks now after they completed our kitchen and about a week ago, they called us to ask how we are doing and to check and see if we have any problems with the final kitchen. Their follow up phone call was the main reason why we decided to write this review for them. This showed a clear picture the all they care is the satisfaction of their clients and not the money that they can make. For us having a construction company that really cares is priceless and that’s what really matters. Our new kitchen is gorgeous and we love it very much!!! Thank you for everything!

I didn't have the deal done due to description confusion. After speaking with the owner, it appears his estimate did not clearly outline the financial aspects of his proposal. Although I did call him to try to figure things out; I apparently did not correctly understand this part of his proposal. Although I hired a different company to do the work; I would be interested in giving Mike another try and will contact him in the Spring when I am planning on having a fence installed on my property.

This project took four months. We even left for seven weeks and felt comfortable leaving him unattended to complete things. He does a lot of the work himself and is a perfectionist. When he brought in subcontractors there were no additional fees, this was all included in the original bid. The subcontractors were paid directly for any extra jobs that were completed that were not included in the estimate.

The owner came out first and looked at the project. Once we scheduled the appointment and they replaced our storm door. The owner came back with the crew and gave them the instructions to do the work. They had to shim the door to do the install and everything went well. The door works great.

ACT General building and Construction was the first company that we saw. Read through their reports and feedback and was pretty impressed. We decided to give them a call. Miguel (owner) promptly came out to give us an a bid. He politely inquired about the other contractors that are bidding on the work. He actually told us that he could not beat another contractors price and that we should go with them instead. I know there are a lot of factors to consider when choosing a contractor, but the other contractor is also very highly recommended. Miguel was very helpful telling us what type of renovations are needed and what we could ask the other contractor to look into.

They came out and did some work for me. The tech was professional but wasn’t thrilled about doing the work. I had a few things I’d like them to do a few small things around the house, but I felt like he thought the work was beneath him. There were a few things that needed to be done that they didn’t complete. They also didn’t fulfill the entire amount of time I’d paid for, but I was so unsatisfied that I didn’t want to mess with it any more.

HUCK CONSTRUCTION
I liked John Huckle and was prepared to go with the work, but I never received a quote after the inspection! I had to pay $300 for the inspection, and the understanding was that the funds could be put toward the work if I decided to go ahead. Since I never got the quote, I'm just out my $300! Huckle seems like an old hand who has been looking at San Jose foundations for years, and I received a good recommendation from someone else in the neighborhood. I have the sense they'd do a good job -- if I could get them to show up.
