Mr. chimney's appointment was for between 10am and 12pm. They arrived at 10:30am. Mrs. Chimney and her Son. I had requested an Inspection of my chimney because I had not had a fire in the fireplace for over 8 years. They both inspected the fire grate and flue and then went on the roof to inspect the chimney from above. After inspection I was given a completed check list with written info as to the condition of the chimney. After they left I lit my first hearth fire in over 8 years. AFFORDABLE CHIMNEY SWEEP WAS FAST FRIENDLY AND VERY POLITE. HE TOLD US THE CHIMNEY WAS IN GREAT SHAPE. HE DID NOT MAKE A MESS AS WE WAS CLEANING THE CHIMNEY AND HE DID A GOOD JOB.

Martin came over and assessed the chimney and cleaned the entire chimney and showed us (non chimney girls) how the bricks were crumbling (too put it mildly!) in the lower portion of the chimney and the water damage that was, once we looked up the chimney and knew what we were looking at, very obvious. We scheduled an appointment and 2 days later a crew was over and totally repaired the chimney. They were prompt, neat and tidy and it looks great and it works! They cleaned everything up, left not a bit of mess and did not do any damage to the hardwood floors in the room.

My small house is 75 years old. It was hit by a car. The point of impact was near my chimney. I did not tell Martin that I had two different opinions about the chimney. He did his inspection meticulously, thoroughly. He determined my fireplace and chimney to be safe to use. MARTIN TOLD ME THE TRUTH. The contractor's guy was trying to scare me into costly, drawn out, unnecessary repairs. Martin determined that the tilt in the chimney was inconsequential, it was a great, really solidly built chimney, there were no cracks, and the fire box (where you put the logs to burn) was absolutely fine. Martin demonstrated a fund of knowledge of structural integrity, plus he has twenty five years of practical, specialized experience with chimneys. Our chimney/fireplace has never drawn well and recently had become completely unusable. I was afraid that the entire chimney would need reconstruction, but Hugo from Mr. Chimney came out for an estimate and told me that rebuilding wasn't necessary; what was needed was a three-day process of intense cleaning and realignment of the smoke chamber, which is done internally with wet concrete and not by taking the chimney apart. I called for an appointment and was offered a time just 3 days later. Martin Nava arrived about a half hour early. He and his helper cleaned two chimneys in each of two flats, also observed the chimney tops to ensure they were in proper shape. They cleaned up completely. Martin filled out a report form on each of the chimneys. They were friendly and courteous. They gave us a a multi-chimney discount as had been promised by phone.

He removed the squirrel, put it in a box and released it in a nearby park and cleaned and swept the chimney thoroughly. We were concerned the squirrel might get out of chimney and into the house if he he wasn't successfully captured. The company installed a sealed spark arrester on the chimney to insure that another squirrel does not go down the chimney.

The debris knocked out the the chimney was about 5 inches deep on the floor of the fireplace. Of course, he blocked it off so it did not make a mess. THE ORIGINAL QUOTE TO HAVE THE CHIMNEY SWEEP WAS $149.00, BUT AFTER THE INSPECTION, THEY FOUND THAT MY CHIMNEY HAD NEVER BEEN USED. THEY ONLY CHARGED ME FOR AN INSPECTION WHICH WAS $89.00.

CHIMNEY CLEAN DID A GOOD JOB. THEY LEFT NO MESS and THE CHIMNEY WAS CLEAN. WE DON'T LIGHT A LOT OF FIRES DURING THE YEAR SO IT REMAINS SOMEWHAT CLEAN.

Martin, the gentleman who came out to inspect my chimney, was very personable and professional. He informed me that the chimney company that I had out last year were trying to upsell me something unnecessary and that their prices were way to high. He said all I needed was a new chimney crown, since mine was cracked and letting water in. Two other men (forgot their names, sadly) came out to do the work a few days later. They were professional and tidy. I had a great experience overall with Mr. Chimney!

Ron from Chimney Clean came half hour early and did a thorough job of cleaning the chimney from top to bottom. He protected our living room floor and hearth before pulling out our wood stove for cleaning. He provided a written report with suggestions for things to do to make our chimney safe. He did not appear rushed and answered all of my husband's questions.

They inspected the inside and outside and also cleaned it. The employee even had a stove pipe hat and laid down papers on the carpet so no soot would get on anything. He did an excellent job inspecting the chimney to make sure the chimney was safe. I was very impressed with them.

Kirk cleaned and scoped the chimney. He calculated the dimensions of the chimney for the proper operation and showed me the design flaws I had in my chimney. He had many solutions and I chose the one that made most practical and economic sense for me. Most of all, he explained it all to me in layman terms and he was very patient with my questions. His scoping of the chimney was very impressive and he showed me where there were cracks or problems and then he fixed them. He was very clean with the service and left no dust, grit, or bad smells when he was done. First, Martin and Edwin spread out a large blanket to cover my white area rug. They swept the chimney from the top to the bottom, assessed the condition of the chimney and the wood stove, including my chimney cap, and provided a written report. They were very fast (I think it took about 30 minutes at the most) and very clean. Tonight I will enjoy my fire, knowing that everything is clean and safe.

The furnace was cleaned and then the chimney was cleaned with both implements as well as cleaning solution. The old chimney cap, which was rusting and falling apart was removed and replaced. The workers were careful not to come into the house while they were cleaning the chimney, so as not to get the carpets dirty. They were consciences and professional, and I was happy with the work they did.

Sal was actually the first of the inspectors to arrive and jumped right into inspecting the chimney. He did a thorough job and even did a little cleaning. Then, he spent time helping me understand how the chimney worked, how to open and close the flue, what and what not to use in the fireplace, and pointed out the features required on a chimney. He was a lovely way to start the inspection day, alleviating much of my initial stress.
