Military Appreciation and Giving Back to Veterans on Veterans Day

This list will be updated daily for Veterans Day 2021 as information becomes available. 

The following are organizations who are making a special effort to recognize Veterans Day by donating a portion of their sales to veteran causes or featuring special programs that give back to veterans and their families during the month of November 2021. Companies that are giving back to the military include:

Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant -- Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant is teaming up with Honor Flight, an organization which transports America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our country. In all locations, Abuelo’s will donate $1 to Honor Flight for each Chile con Queso and Queso Diablo appetizer sold from Nov. 10. – Nov. 14, 2021

Born Primitive -- Born Primitive, an active-duty military family-owned athletic apparel company, is donating 100% of its profits from sales on Veterans Day, November 11, 2021. Profits, up to $100,000, from the fitness apparel company will support military and first responder nonprofits. Donations will be divided among four charities: The Navy SEAL Foundation, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Best Defense Foundation, and Adaptive Training Foundation. Customers may place their order at www.BornPrimitive.com.

#BurpeesForVets – The #BurpeesForVets challenge is a social media nomination challenge to fundraise and advocate for Veteran wellness through a network of veteran-focused NGO's that offer programming in 3 key areas: mental wellness, workforce development and community building. Starting on November 1st and going the full month of November, the campaign has 3 key components:

  • Donate $11 to the Veterans transition fund - a 501(c)3 administered by Legacy Global
  • Post a video on social media doing as many burpees as you can in 11 seconds
  • Nominate 3 people to complete the challenge during the month of November

100% of the funds donated (after credit card processing fees) go to the benefitting non-profits. The official website, BurpeesForVets.com, is where people can get involved/take action.

California Pizza Kitchen -- CPK will be donating 20% of all sales from November 8-10 to Disabled American Veterans (DAV). To participate, guests must indicate they are there to support Disabled American Veterans by mentioning or showing a flyer or social post. Purchases also include take-out, catering and online orders at cpk.com when a guest enters the promo code: DAV at checkout.

Double Down for Veterans -- Semper Fi & America’s Fund (The Fund) and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation launched the 10th annual Double Down for Veterans Match Campaign. From November 4, 2021until December 31, 2021, donations made to The Fund will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10 million by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation. Donations to the Double Down for Veterans Match Campaign can be made online from now until December 31, 2021, by visiting www.TheFund.org/Match, or via check, equities, donor-advised funds, or other donation methods. Keep up to date on the campaign's progress and learn more about those benefiting from the work of The Fund via its social media channels @semperfifund.

O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar -- O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar has launched the Songwriters Café restaurant with 100% of proceeds supporting The Folded Flag Foundation. The Folded Flag Foundation provides educational scholarships and grants to the families of service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States. The Songwriters Café restaurant is a virtual concept open this fall for a limited time, running from October 4, 2021 through November 21, 2021. Guests who would like to make an impact through their next meal purchase can search for the Songwriters Café restaurant through third-party delivery apps DoorDash, Uber Eats and Postmates.

Sport Clips -- Sport Clips Haircuts is featuring their Help A Hero veteran scholarship campaign today to benefit scholarships for U.S. service members and veterans. Donations can be made now through November 13, 2021at any Sport Clips location or by texting “HERO” to 71777. On Veterans Day, November 11, participating stores will offer free haircuts for veterans and service members with a military I.D., and Sport Clips will donate $2 per haircare service toward this year's fundraising goal of $1.5 million.

Starbucks - Starbucks will donate 25 cents for every cup of hot brewed coffee sold nationwide on November 11 to military nonprofits Team Red, White & Blue and Headstrong, to support the mental health and  wellbeing of military communities.

Wreaths Across America/Jersey Mike’s -- Wreaths Across America and Jersey Mike’s Subs are hosting a matching campaign from Nov. 15 – 30, 2021, with a goal to sponsor 40,000 veterans’ wreaths for placement this National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021. Starting Monday, Nov. 15, through Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, every $15 wreath sponsorship made at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/JerseyMikes will be matched by Jersey Mike’s, up to $300,000.
