Maarten Botterman's latest blog post stands as a recap of the ICANN Board's latest Board Workshop, which was held from 28 April to 1 May. The Board discussed how to best welcome the ICANN Community to The Hague, Netherlands, both virtually and in-person. Due to a rise in COVID cases in Los Angeles County, the Board switched this meeting to a virtual format.

ICANN is calling for applications for the NextGen@ICANN Program at ICANN75. ICANN wants to hear from university students living and studying in the Asia Pacific region who are interested in the future of the Internet and in participating in the ICANN75 Annual Meeting. ICANN75 is scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 17 to 22 September 2022.

Recently, ICANN announced that the Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program will continue for ICANN74. The program offers community members who have limited Internet capacity financial assistance to increase their Internet bandwidth for ICANN74. The deadline for applications is Friday, 27 May 2022, at 23:59 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

ICANN President and CEO Göran Marby announces ICANN will contribute US$1 million to the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) for continued Internet access in Ukraine.
