"Overall, the project was OK: the repairs and work were completed satisfactorily, though not as quickly or as detail-oriented as I had expected for the price. Getting an estimate and scheduling were very easy - Dan and Andrea were great at communication and providing detailed estimates with options, and in answering our questions. Chatting via text messages and e-mail were very effective for us and our timing was flexible to start the project, so we were well-prepared when the work started and had all the details ironed out. The accepted estimate covered all the work we wanted with an estimated timeline of about a week for a cost of about $6000. The work began with the expected preparation of the bathroom, laying down protective covers on the floors and throughout the bathroom to start pulling down the damaged ceiling drywall. After 2-3 days the ceiling drywall was replaced (less damage than expected), the roof leak area had been addressed, and affected insulation had been removed; the existing wall mirror was also removed in preparation for painting and the bathroom was coming together nicely. The next 2 days were spent smoothing the new drywall, applying texture, and applying primer paint to the ceiling, which (as expected) required some drying time. The ceiling repair was looking good and like it would blend in nicely after the final paint was applied. When painting began, it went pretty smoothly and took about 2 days: 1 for the primary color on the walls and ceiling and another for the accent wall. There was a bit of confusion about where the accent wall color should be applied, but Dan and Dan were happy to adjust the painted areas to correct some miscommunication. After that, the mirror went up and (after a return visit to adjust it) we were all done. After 2 weeks we were able to take in the final results for a few days and I'd say the quality level was OK, but not as ideal as we were expecting. A few of the points that caught our eyes were: * The outline of the replaced ceiling drywall is more evident than anticipated - the lines of the section are clearly visible through the final paint layer. It's surprising given the time and effort they put into that section. * There was a lot of drywall texture left on the bathroom sink and fixtures that we needed to clean. It was easy to remove with a little scrubbing, but I would have expected it to be easy to prevent. * The paint is a bit thin in several areas, showing some of the prior color wasn't covered; to be fair, it wasn't likely very apparent from every lighting angle. Though this does look like one coat of paint when there should have been 2. To their credit, I know Dan and Dan would be happy to come out to address any issues we have (they happily came back to adjust the mirror to our liking). In our case, more work days isn't ideal since we need to wrangle our dogs while it's being done, so while the end result isn't ideal, it's also not troubling enough to be worth committing to more work and having them back out. I'm not bothered by the longer-than-expected project time, but given the price, I had expected everything to be completed with more attention to detail on the first pass. Their commitment to quality and my satisfaction is quite nice, though, so I'd be inclined to hire them again for a different project.

"Sateren Construction helped us through a 3 different remodel projects that spanned over two years: (1) Remodeling of our entire kitchen, which required knocking out walls to open up the space. Full tear down to studs and refinishing like new. The job included a small amount of electrical, plumbing, and gas-line work. They coordinated manufacturing and install of custom cabinets, countertops, flooring, and all final connections of appliances. (2) Finishing our unfinished basement. This project included major upgrades that all met code requirements. The space was reframed, new windows were cut into the foundation, all new electrical, plumbing (which included foundation trenching), on-demand water heater and HVAC systems were installed. Drywall, paint and final connections were managed. They also helped coordinate permit inspections when needed. We are incredibly happy with how the space turned out and the process of getting it all completed. (3) Upstairs remodel. Included bathroom remodel, new hardwood floors, updated fireplace and mantle with built-in shelving, and opening of new closet for bigger two door access. As noted, Sateren Construction has helped upgrade our home in a major way. I found they did an excellent job, managing expectations while providing a great value for the service. I would absolutely recommend their services to anyone.

"NWPM was a subcontractor for a bathroom remodel. They were prompt and responsive -- they showed up when they said they would, and did good work. They installed a subfloor, vanity, toilet, shower door, and an exhaust fan with necessary conduit. I don't know about their pricing because they were a subcontractor, but I would hire them based on their responsiveness and the quality of the work performed.

"Some jobs are straightforward and/or cosmetic - this was neither. There was a lot of trenching, boring, back-breaking hand digging, weird connections, and unanticipated additional lines found that had to be dealt with. Kudos to Aaron who didn't flinch at any of the these developments and, literally, just dug right in. The plumber did exceptional work and also with a good attitude. I am very pleased with the results. I would supply a photo, but in this case bare dirt and asphalt with no leaks was the desired outcome!
