"I had a roof repair done for a leak by another contractor and after two attempts the problem was not resolved. A roofing supply company gave me several roofing contractor names they recommend and Doug was the only one that answered my inquiry quickly and even was able to give a bid the same day. He also was able to schedule the repair quickly into his schedule as a favor, because the repair needed to be completed before the closing date as the house had been sold. I think the repair was also done at a reasonable rate. While I couldn't be present for the repairs, I was kept up to date by Doug with photos of the work being done. He also did a thorough inspection of the surrounding area for water damage, as well as provide photos of the areas inspected as proof that no further work would be needed beyond the work done on the roof. Doug has lots of experience and also does torch down work, which is not a common practice amongst many general roofing companies. Many of the roofing companies I contacted on the list don't do torch down work, which is really what was needed with the poor design of the roof on my home. If you need a new roof or repairs, I think Doug really should be your first call. In addition they also do other contracting work beyond roofing. <br />

"We had 5 detailed bids from family references and Angie's list top picks. Kevin NGO stood out from the beginning. Punctual. Drove me to show other jobs he had in progress. Was only one confident enough to repair our kitchen floor buried under 30 year old linoleum and tar. Price significantly below the rest and he offered significantly more. We chose him over family references. <br /> <br /> He started work Thanksgiving. All Day. Yeah thats right, while we were eating turkey this guy was working all day for us. We were behind a day on schedule on other projects and he came in to keep our project time line on track. What was amazing is that he didn't flinch and volunteered to do this. <br /> <br /> Tore up the carpet tacks and all the carpets. we had areas that needed patching. One was a literal hole in the floor. you could put your leg in it and kick someones head in the basement. There was oil paint, splatter, linoleum, loose boards, loose stairs, big gaps, rotting thesholds. pretty much a mess. <br /> <br /> Patches are indistinguishable from originals from 1919. He patched with matching original woods. His crew drove in every nail, smoothed and matched every panel, filled every crack. It was a thing to behold. His crew works like a well oiled machine. <br /> <br /> Floors are absolutely amazing, he tranformed the house, they look original. I am still amazed when I look at them. <br /> <br /> Despite difficulties and small surprises he did not charge extra. <br /> <br /> We chose the natural Swedish coat. We opted not to stain after hearing stain does not always take evenly to fir. Swedish coat is the only way to go for its durability and no maintenance. "I had a small slow leak that had developed over the years and I started saving money with which to pay for any repairs. When I first bought my house, the roof had been in good shape, but over the years, the roof started showing its wear and tear due to some of our heavy snows and high winds. I realized that I was probably going to need a new roof. I checked both the Angie’s List and Home Advisor web-sites for suggestions on experts in home roofing and amongst the contractors I selected to give me an estimate was Rigid Exteriors out of Port Orchard. I live in Bremerton and I really wanted to support local businesses. Harry, the owner was the one who came out to inspect my roof and tell me my options. All three businesses suggested Malarkey shingles and they had similar approaches to the job at hand. Harry struck me as someone with an extremely solid work ethic. I also got the impression he was someone with a great amount of integrity, something I value very much.&nbsp; The estimate I received from Rigid Exteriors were in line with the other two companies I selected, so I decided to go with a gut feeling as the price difference was negligible. Along with the leak, I had some sagging areas in the roof so the initial estimate was around $14,000. I was asked to pay half up front which I did.&nbsp; Work was delayed due to another house that had some serious problems, but that really didn’t bother me as my time-line was very flexible.&nbsp; Once work commenced, the removal of the old shingles proceeded very quickly. However, the problems with my roof were much worse than I expected. It was revealed that I had some uninvited rodent guests staying in my attic and some clean-up needed to be done. This occurred in two separate areas of the house. It was also discovered that more than the estimated plywood planks were in worse shape and those additional pieces needed to be replaced. Brian, the foreman in charge of the job, kept me well-informed of the situation and gave me my options very clearly. I kept on telling him I needed the job done right and that was my bottom line. Brian echoed the integrity and high-quality workmanship attitude which Harry, the owner, required from his employees.&nbsp; At no time did I ever feel that corners were being cut or lower quality materials were being used.&nbsp; Unfortunately, the city of Bremerton raised some concerns about my 1920’s roof. There was some confusion as to what should be done and Harry and his crew understood that they needed to make repairs. The city then stopped the work due to the confusion. Over three weeks passed when the city finally decided that the work Rigid had done was the correct way repairs should be done and allowed them to finish the remaining 2% of the job. The final 2% of the work didn’t even take a full day to complete and now I have a wonderful new roof with ridge vents and 130 mph resistant shingles. A double-set of ridge vents were installed in a section of the roof which the inspectors pointed out to me was something that very few roofing companies would do. They were very careful in making sure debris was cleared after every time they worked. I also understand that they also do siding as well. If I decide I want my siding redone, I will definitely turn to Rigid Exteriors for the job. I also have decided to have them come out once a year to check that the integrity of my roof is solid, there is no debris in the gutters (which have screens), and no moss is developing.&nbsp; I felt very reassured about the work that had been done and I have absolutely no reservations in highly recommending Rigid Exteriors for your roofing needs.

Chad Melton took the construction test, approved, organized the date, choose the material and helped with its delivery on time. Chad and Michael supervised the project. Dave and Jimmie removed the old staircase with the ugly carpet, build a new waterproofed staircase, build the wooden closet steps, moved light fixtures, put drywalls, and paint the project, put the new kitchen shelf, and leave the house in immaculate condition.
