Boston Wood Siding Repair

Joe gave me two estimates, one to replace the wrinkled vinyl with new vinyl, and one to replace it with wood. He knew about the problem of north-facing being wrinkled by reflected sunlight, and he researched solutions. He advised, correctly I think that the only two solutions are wood siding and full-window screens on my north neighbor's windows. Joe's estimate for replacing vinyl with vinyl was half the price of the other estimate I got, and the other contractor wasn't familiar with the problem and didn't suggest alternatives. I opted for wood siding. Joe scheduled me quickly, was considerate of the neighbor -- whose driveway he needed to work in -- came on time, did the job on time, and did a great job. The wood replacement siding looks pretty good next to the vinyl that's still there, as Joe predicted.

They were on site for two days to replace three windows with new Anderson windows. The two carpenters were very professional. Albert stopped by on two occasions two oversee the work. Everything looks great, and the work exceeded my expectations. Thank you.

Well. They did good work fixing the problem area, sheathing, insulation, weather shield, and siding. Pleased with their work. We would use them again.

I was incredibly impressed with the sales process, quoting, and upfront diligence with the teams at Capital Construction. It has been over 1 year since the project was finished and greatly increased the value of my home. Since then I noticed a few items that needed to be addressed to hold the integrity of the project. I continue to have the most frustrating experience with the group at Capitl Construction. False promises of scheduling a team to come fix the issues. False information that they stand by the work and will see it tough. Finger pointing between the product manufacturer's and Capital Construction that leaves the consumer in last place. I still have caulk used throughout the project that is faded and not applied correctly (i.e. in board joints, to fill nail holes), loose boards not secured property, and even worse water penetration near the fire escape due to incorrect flashing and caulking. This has been a 4+ month process by myself. I just paid my final bill of over $30k for the job and I have yet to receive a single phone call from Capital Construction on what to do.

The owner, Gerfferson, was knowledgeable, professional, and on time. We enjoyed working with him and his crew. He explored options with us and made sure we were comfortable and understood the materials. I would happily hire Gerfferson again for another project.

We all like Bill and would like to contact him for future home improvement. His team is very efficient, got exactly what we want fixed and beyond. He also repaired a few other places not listed but he found during work for free.

They did a very meticulous job. It was done in the Jan/Feb. timeframe so it took a while (they did not work in cold/inclement weather, for the workers' safety) so there were days when no work happened. However, they were very careful in how they worked, they paid attention to all the details of the trim around the windows and were sure to ask questions when a decision had to be made. As an added bonus, they reviewed all the miscellaneous cable/tv/phone wires on the side of the house & eliminated the ones we no longer needed, and reattached them to the house in a much more orderly way. Bruno was available to answer questions and was responsive to neighbors (we are in Somerville so houses are very close together; believe me, the whole block knew our house was getting work done). When our house was painted, the paint would peel after a few years and look terrible. Now with the fiber cement siding our house looks beautiful. We also paid to have them redo the front steps, which also came out beautifully.

My overall experience with O'Sullivan Installs couldn't have been any better. I would recommend them without any hesitation. I almost wish I had more work for them. I received 2 estimates after calling 3 companies listed on Angies. One company never returned my call. The other 2 were quick to respond and O'Sullivan came in several thousand dollars cheaper but the quality was top notch. They showed up on time, actually a week early to start the job. The workers were polite, reliable and extremely knowledgeable. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves every night. I was actually very sick and ended up being hospitalized at the end of their job so I wasn't able to thank them personally. The owner was very supportive and told my husband to deal with my issues and he would come pick up the check for the balance once I was released from the hospital. I have never heard of any contractor putting their clients before the paycheck. I can't say enough about how wonderful they were and they will be my very first and only call should a need arise for any of their other services. Great job, great company, great owner and fabulous workers. Can't say enough!!! If you have any need of their services, call them first you won't be disappointed!!!!!

Tom and his crew were wonderful and always repesctful to us and our property. They were there on the job when they said they would be. Tom was available until 9:00 at night when I had questions or wanted to know how the work was going. I had hired Tom and his crew a few years back for a smaller job and he was the only one I needed to call for this bigger job.

They did a great job. The owner Leo showed up when he said he would. They replaced the wood siding with James Hardie fiber siding. They cleaned up the area everyday and it looks great! Very satisfied. I would highly recommend.

Mr. Handyman was recommended to me after I'd tried calling several area contractors for an estimate on replacing damaged siding on our house (apparently the job was too small for a general contractor). They responded immediately and had a worker out to us the same week. He quoted me an estimate and finished the job in the same (sweltering hot) day. They're on the pricey side, but given their professionalism, responsiveness, and efficiency I thought they were well worth it. If we'd tackled the job as DIYers it would have taken weeks.

Our expectations were exceeded on all counts. They took the time needed to be sure we understood what was going to happen and to be sure we would be pleased with the result. This included mapping out a driving tour of similar jobs they completed so we could see style, colors, and quality. The installation crew went above and beyond to complete the work, with perfection, ahead of schedule, in the middle of winter. Many of their days started with shoveling snow from the sides of the house.

They did an excellent job. They were professional and the owner was here every morning to supervise. He then came back every night to check up as well. Towards the end of the job he walked the property with me to make sure everything was done property.

Wonderful! We needed siding repairs after a wind storm, a gutter re-attached and a wall painted. Tom and his crew are responsive and friendly and work hard. Tom always returned my calls in a timely manner and contrary to what friends had told me about contractors in general (not knowing Tom), Tom and his crew performed the work quickly, although sometimes it took my calling him first. Like most contractors he's a busy guy so sometimes I had to call and pin down an exact day when he could come to the house. But once that conversation happened he stuck to it.

CARLOS WAS OUTSTANDING. HE SHOWED UP EARLY, WAS VERY POLITE/PROFESSIONAL AND WORK DILIGENTLY. THE QUALITY OF HIS WORK AS GREAT AND THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. (WE GOT ANOTHER QUOTE FOR $275; CARLOS CHARGED US $200.)
