This is an email of gratitude for a job well done for my new fence. The fence looks great and is what we wanted. There was an initial issue with one section, but Gerald and his crew returned quickly and fixed the issue. Gerald and his crew also did a great job carefully working around the plants and bushes. I highly recommend Reliable Fence and Gerald's crew to anyone looking for a new fence

Cannot overstate what a great job these folks did. It was a rather large job for an early learning center for pre-k children. Had to deal with wetlands requirements per Mass EPA, fence height and gap requirements per Mass Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC), access for (believe it or not) squirrels and other small animals requested by the town, access for parents and children, as well as access for landscape equipment. Dana from RFCBoston was not only patient, but insightful regarding improvements to our initial layout, as well as both additions to and deletions from our original specifications. Yes, there were a few errors, and important ones at that. But corrections were immediate and proper. In addition, the folks that did the installation were very, very nice people and a pleasure to work with. Job is correct, to plan, and seems very sturdy. Thank you

I’m really pleased with the job Reliable did repairing my fence. They were extremely punctual in sending someone out to have a look at the job, the quote was right on the money, and the work was finished in an extremely timely fashion. All cleaned up like it never even happened! I would definitely hire them again

Excellent work from Reliable. They were recommended by a realtor, and they did a great job. Good communication, as well. I've seen other work by them, all consistently good. Highly recommend.

Reliable gave a very reasonable quote, they came when they said they would, the crew was approachable and friendly, and the workmanship appears to be exceptional. They even want along the entire rest of the fence to ensure that the posts were stable and secure.

  • FENSU Inc
    5.0
We used FENSU to replace a stockade fence around our 2-family residence in Boston in March 2022. Their bid was not the cheapest, but we went with them because they offered solutions for working around a tree and a stump on the property line instead of telling us to hire a different company to deal with those things before they came. ... It took us many months to decide on a fence company. Every time I contacted the office, my questions were answered courteously and promptly. Once we were ready, Fensu was able to accommodate our scheduling request. The crew was polite and friendly and came when they said they would. We're particular about our garden, and the crew helped us move some heavy planter things and "replanted" one of those poles for hanging plants that had to get moved during fence "take-down." Maybe it's nothing to the guys, but it's greatly appreciated from my vantage point. The fence materials are high-quality and it has been installed properly, so I won't need a new fence for 25 years. But to you who are looking: I do recommend these guys. The difference in price between FENSU and the cheaper guys, over a 25-year period is negligible

  • Durable Fence

Felipe and his crew help us replace our old rotting wooden fence and install a white vinyl fence with 2 gates in our backyard. The price was competitive and was responsive to questions we had. He had no issue accommodating to additional requests and aligning to the Pool code guidelines. The wife loves the new fence and i would recommend his company for future work

  • Pride Fence

The fence installation was top notch. The crew of three men, Anthony, Austin and Danny were excellent craftsmen installing my fence. They arrived on time, they were polite and courteous and did a fantastic job. They were meticulous with the finishes and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. They cleaned up after the job was finished and I couldn't ask for a better fence company. I highly recommend Pride Fence Company. The owner, Lauryn, was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
