Shaun gave us an estimate to remove 3 maples, a black cherry tree and grind one stump in our backyard. One of the trees was close to a smaller maple, which we wanted to keep and there was no damage to it after the tree removal. Shaun set up the crane on the street in front of our house. Eric and Dave drove up with the chipper equipment. Shaun and Eric worked on the tree cutting and lifted the trees right over our house, letting them down in a side street. Dave fed the large tree chunks right into the chipper. The whole operation was done in about 2 hours. They cleaned up perfectly and you could hardly tell they were here except for some sawdust. Less than 2 weeks later a truck pulled up with two guys who proceeded to grind the one stump. They also did a wonderful job. Everyone did a great job and we were very satisfied. We will hire McDonough again if we need more trees removed. We will also recommend them to all our neighbors

They did a great job, arrived exactly when they said they would, and charged a fair price. I have used their service often over the years to remove fallen trees and debris, sometime requesting that the wood be sawed into fireplace lengths. I have always been impressed with, not only their work, but also their great communication - always getting right back to me, whenever I had any issue or a concern. I heartily recommend this service

It went great. The tree was removed first and was done quickly and without any issue. Next the roots had to be removed under the sidewalk and I was concerned that the slabs might crack in the process. Fortunately, Justin and his crew worked very diligently and lifted the slabs without incident. Once the slabs were lifted the roots were cut out and the slabs went back in place perfectly. Needless to say I was relieved since I did not have to have the slab of sidewalk replaced and incur incremental cost. Everything was left neat and tidy

Excellent!!! Tony and his son, Vincenzo, run a tight ship and put out excellent quality work and service. I had a custom wall, walkway, mulching and improved landscape aesthetics done at my house and it came out perfect… the first time! You pay for what you get is how the saying goes, and even still they made sure it was reasonable and affordable. I’ve had them doing snow removal for me for years as well, bounced around with a few different companies to see what’s out there and no one compares. Attention to detail always, makes the customer feel included every step of the way. Couldn’t be happier. You’re wasting your time if you go anywhere else for these services. Thanks Tony and the Torcasio team for making everything easy and giving my neighbors something to stop and stare at!

Excellent! If I could give more stars I would. They were very professional, and did a suburb job. They returned my call quickly and came as promised. Their equipment was high tech and worked quickly and efficiently. They removed all the trees, logs and all the clippings.

Tree Service FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to remove a tree?

Answer: Typically, tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000. Tree removal costs vary widely based on the number of trees being removed, the height of each tree, the diameter of each tree trunk, and accessibility to the tree. Smaller trees are usually less expensive to remove than larger ones, as are those that are more easily accessible.

  2. Do you need a permit to cut down a tree?

Answer: In many areas, you don’t need a permit to cut down a tree on your own private, residential property. But some municipalities may require tree removal permits for conservation purposes or to comply with local ordinances. When you hire a tree removal pro, they’ll be able to tell you whether you need a permit for your specific tree removal project.

  3. When is a good time to trim trees?

Answer: In most regions, the best time to trim your trees is during the winter months. During the active growing season (spring through fall), trimming your trees can leave them more vulnerable to disease and less likely to thrive. During the winter months, when trees are dormant, trimming them will cause less stress and leave them ready to grow again in the spring.

  4. What is the average cost to cut a tree down?

Answer: Tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000 per tree. Establishing an average cost can be difficult because each tree will be assessed and priced based on factors like height, trunk diameter, and accessibility. In general, smaller trees cost less to remove than larger trees, as do trees that are more accessible.

  5. How much does it cost to service a tree?

Answer: The cost to service a tree is typically between $430 and $1,320. The cost to service a tree depends on several factors, including what exactly you’d like done, the tree’s height, its health, the location of the tree, and local labor costs. The national average cost for tree services is $865. Tree trimming isn’t necessary for all trees but can improve their health and longevity by encouraging new growth.

  6. What is the difference between tree trimming and pruning?

Answer: While tree trimming and tree pruning might appear similar to the untrained eye, they serve different purposes. Tree pruning is used to thin a tree by removing unnecessary or burdensome branches. Tree trimming promotes healthy growth by trimming but not removing branches.
