Founder, Roses in Concrete Community School
Jeff Duncan-Andrade's transformational work on the elements of effective teaching in schools is recognized throughout the U.S. and abroad. His publications span the issues of youth wellness, trauma responsiveness, teacher development and retention, curriculum change and critical pedagogy. He is also a founder of the Roses in Concrete Community School, a community responsive lab school in East Oakland and the Community Responsive Education Group. As a classroom teacher and school leader in East Oakland for the past 28 years, his pedagogy has been widely studied and acclaimed for producing uncommon levels of social and academic success for students.

Author, "The Great Upheaval: Higher Education’s Past, Present, and Uncertain Future"
Arthur Levine is Distinguished Scholar of Higher Education at New York University. He is also President Emeritus of Teachers College at Columbia University and President Emeritus of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation (now Institute on Citizens and Scholars). Levine has been a faculty member and chair of the Institute for Educational Management at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, president of Bradford College and senior Fellow at the Carnegie Foundation. He was also the founder and first president of the Woodrow Wilson (now High Meadows) Graduate School of Teaching and Learning. Levine has authored 13 books, including The Great Upheaval: Higher Education’s Past, Present, and Uncertain Future, and published scores of articles in venues such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and the Washington Post. Levine has received a number of awards including 26 honorary degrees and Carnegie, Fulbright, Guggenheim and Rockefeller Foundation Fellowships. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Krista Tippett has created a singular space for reflection and conversation in American and global public life. She founded and leads the On Being Project—a groundbreaking media and public life initiative pursuing “deep thinking and moral imagination, social courage and joy to renew inner life, outer life, and life together.” As the creator and host of the Peabody Award-winning On Being radio show, Tippett takes up the great questions of human life.
