    We’re very excited to share that biologists have discovered a 6th species of rhinoceros, classified as the red rhino! This rare creature is similar in shape to the Southern white rhino, but has a distinctive red coloring. We can’t wait to learn more about this exciting new find.

    Okapi are well adapted to their dense, dark surroundings. Their dark bodies blend into the shadows and their striped hindquarters break up any outline, making it difficult for predators to spot them.

    Lola is socially savvy and has already learned to provide reassurance and greetings to members of her troop. She has also been very important to the introduction process with adopted baby Maise by reassuring her and helping her become more comfortable around other chimps. (2/2)

    MEET THE TROOP: Almost 3-year-old chimp Lola is the biggest and boldest of our troop’s three youngsters. She's full of energy, often seen running and jumping around. Lola is very food motivated and intelligent, too. She doesn't have a fav food and will eat almost anything. (1/2)

    There's something new in the giraffe yard! This special flagpole allows our care team to refresh browse and enrichment items from outside the habitat, easily cranking it up to giraffe height. Female Kesi was the first to investigate the new snack spot! 🦒
