The courses in this NanoCert are designed to bring you closer to completion of the following degree and certificates: Competitive Intelligence Graduate Certificate; Counterintelligence Graduate Certificate; Intelligence Analysis Graduate Certificate; Terrorism Studies Graduate Certificate; Intelligence Studies Graduate Certificate; MA Intelligence Studies - Capstone Option.
What You Will Do
- Assess the analytic tools, concerns, critical thinking, and problems related to performing intelligence analysis at the national and international level
- Probe complex intelligence problems, apply analytic tools, and suggest potential problems and solutions
- Determine how multiple collection platforms and “big data” are leveraged to produce geospatial intelligence
- Assimilate new geospatial technologies from open source applications

This course focuses on intelligence analysis including the analysis of international threats to security. The course will provide students with a foundation of human cognition in an effort to help understand why we think the way we do, how we come to formulate biases, and the many analytical, perceptional, and cognitive errors we frequently make in conducting analyses. Students will be provided with a foundation from which to understand and conduct critical analysis. This course affords an opportunity to look at a variety of case studies related to both US and foreign threat analysis and action, including the evolution of responses to threats, perspectives on threat action, principles of threat analysis and response, and assessments of successes and failures of such actions. Students will develop a comprehensive knowledge of intelligence analysis, how intelligence agencies assess and counter international threats in order to guard global security interests, and how various threats affect national security policy and decision-making. 1Alumni Graduated with No APUS-incurred Student Loan Debt As of December 31, 2021
Includes alumni who graduated with an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree from APUS. Student loan debt is defined as student loans and private education loans used for tuition, fees, living expenses, and book costs associated with courses taken at APUS. Many APUS students receive military tuition assistance and veterans education benefits, which are not student loan debt.

To minimize out-of-pocket costs, U.S. active-duty servicemembers, their spouse/dependents, National Guard members, and Reservists receive a tuition grant that caps undergraduate, master's degree, and graduate certificate tuition at $250/credit hour. In addition, a university book grant provides no-cost textbooks and ebooks for all undergraduates and military-tuition-grant-eligible master’s-level students.
