When video first went digital, there were a lot of video formats that came with it. These days, the most common video format is the MPEG-4 Part 14 container — otherwise known as the MP4 — but there are many other video formats you may encounter. When we talk about video "quality," we're referring to the number of pixels that can be contained in the standard video aspect ratio of 16:9. The Vimeo player currently supports video qualities of up to 8K — which has a display resolution width of approximately 8,000 pixels. With that said, the "best" video quality can be a bit of a subjective term, as it depends on your internet bandwidth and device.
