  6. On this day in 1957, severe thunderstorms occurred from southwest into north central Arkansas, producing wind damage in places, and a total of six tornadoes…one of which hit Conway. One person was killed, with 18 injured. cc:

  10. The slight risk area of severe thunderstorms in northwest Arkansas Friday has been shrunk. However, a few thunderstorms could reach severe limits Friday afternoon and evening with damaging winds and large hail the main threats.

    Our survey team went out this morning to survey damage just south of Stuttgart, AR. They found EF-2 damage with a tornado track of 1.5 miles long, a max width of 300 yards, and peak wind speeds of 130 mph.

    HOT day across the area with another high temperature record shattered at Drake Field for the third consecutive day in a row. Rain and storms, a few could be strong, will move in late Fri night into early Sat morning. Here's your latest forecast.

  15. While it is pretty clear no actual records were set in the area so far this week... there's also no question we'll have at least one record fall in Fayetteville today (the record there today is 86°). Could also get one in Ft. Smith, where today's record high is 92°

  18. Some new high temperature records were set at a few locations across Arkansas yesterday. The highest temperatures recorded were at Little Rock and Fayetteville, reaching 94°F!!!
