Finally was able to get a bucket list shot with the Aurora dancing on the horizon over a storm complex. All of this taking place in front of my favorite abandoned church in South Dakota. Paid the price with mosquitos attacking me though. 😅

I captured this strange phenomenon recently in SE Colorado at 1000FPS. Check out how the bolt actually follows the turbine blade at the end. If the blade was spinning faster would it draw a lightning circle?? Would love another analysis!

A couple wks ago I was riding gunshot across the Great Plains of the #USA w these guys. We drove 100s of kms chasing #tornados in the name of science. Their research is fascinating, exhilarating, exhausting work. And tonight it airs! @DatelineSBS @SBS cc @TORUS @NOAANSSL @NOAA

Looks like a nice break from severe weather up here. Turning focus to gardens and golf.

No doubt about it, the next 10 days look much cooler than normal across the N Plains, Midwest and Great Lakes with temps running at least a few degrees below normal. A warmer transition is likely after mid-month, the timing of which will be a critical part of the forecast. #agwx

*Wedge description may be over the top, but low meso with likely carousel of vortices shrouded in rain seems warranted.
