Boston Dehumidifier Installation

HE GAVE A VERY THROUGH INSPECTION. I GOT THE ESTIMATE TWO WEEKS LATE AND HE ONLY INCLUDED THE HUMIDIFYING ASPECT IN THE ESTIMATE WITH NO REFERENCE TO THE FORCED AIR HEAT.

Mr. Coy arrived on time, was extremely pleasant. He unboxed and assembled the A/C unit, and installed it in the window. He tested the unit to be sure it was working, then discovered that component that directs the air flow was not functioning correctly so he fixed that. Then he went over how to turn the machine off and on and how to adjust the air flow with me, I paid him, and he went on his way. This was a very positive experience.

Very professional. Despite the heat, responded quickly to alleviate the problem. Knew exactly what they were doing.

We knew the HVAC system needed some work at our newly-purchased condo, based on the home inspector's report, so we called Sila, based on Angie's List reviews and some excellent work they did for us a couple of years ago at a previous house in Waltham. It was easy to schedule the work and Sila arrived as scheduled, on-time. Craig was the lead technician and he is exceptional. He was personable, professional, and knowledgeable. He spent some time examining our HVAC and answering my questions about the things the home inspector found. He was really good in explaining some highly technical matters in layman's terms. It was very helpful to me too in understanding the HVAC system in the new house. Craig was also very good at problem-solving and describing potential solutions to some of the system's shortcomings. He performed a thorough tune-up and inspection of our air conditioning system. He also removed a humidifier attached to the system that apparently was broken for years and was a breeding ground for mold and had caused some rust in leaking. And he patched the duct area where the dehumidifier had been. He also provided an estimate for making the filter more accessible. We were able to reduce the cost of the service from $199 to $169 with an Angie's List coupon. Craig is top-notch, and it is also obvious the Sila places a high priority on customer-service and recruits exceptional employees and treats them well. Highly recommended.

Called on a Wednesday to schedule time to have my Furnace cleaned and checked. They came that day! Steve, the tech, was amazing. He was very professional, explained everything he was doing, took all of my concerns seriously, and fixed what another company said was unfixable without major construction.

They list Dehumidifier repair in their list of services but they say they never have repaired dehumidifiers and have no plans to in the future. It makes their whole list of services suspect. They were my 6th call to appliance and HVAC repair companies. The fact that they actually listed dehumidifier repair is kind of cruelly misrepresentative to a frustrated consumer...

Very prompt with estimate and Nick listened to all my concerns and drafted up a detailed plan. The price was comparable with other estimates that we received and as they carefully listened to our concerns during the consultation, we decided to let them do the work. They scheduled us shortly thereafter. When the work began I reviewed the project with Nick, who had no recollection of one of the items that we discussed (a damper to control the air flow to the second floor). At the end of the day, the work was finished with the exception of the humidifier. Nick informed me that the office would call me to schedule that and when they came out to do that work, they could install a damper for the second floor if we still wanted. The office never did call to schedule and after several attempts to contact them, they finally contacted me. I was told that there was new office staff and they had lost my number. They finally scheduled the work, but no further mention was made of the damper. The system works fine, but the humidifier causes the fan to run more than it used to, and I called to inquire about this. My call was never returned. So even though the system works and their work seems to be on par, I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY FUTURE NEEDS including services. I am not sure if their "new" office staff is the problem, although my call for service was 3 months after the installation, but their lack of response is completely unacceptable. Certainly my business was not of great importance to them.

Everything went very well. I had gotten a basement inspection deal thru Angie's list with Pioneer. The basement has always been damp and musty smelling and I had used a regular dehumidifier that you have to empty out. It was not effective and was expensive to run so when the rep suggested this system I knew it was the way to go. He did the measurements and it was installed about a month later (my scheduling Issues). The installation was well done and the installer explained everything and left the place cleaner than when he started. I also had them install a garage ventilation system. I store paints and the gas run lawn mower and snow blower there. The cost was about $1000 and I had the same positive experience with the installation. Highly recommend this company.

I have used them twice now to fix and service a dehumidifier in my basement. They're excellent.

Larry was extremely prompt, and performed a thorough inspection of the basment area he would be working in, including the best location for the dehumidifier, and where it would drain. He then called me later that day to provide me with an estimate, and indicated he had not only researched the precise dehumidifier that would work best for my space, but also driven to Home Deport to do a price comparision. We placed the order with him, and it was installed just three days later (and it only took that long because he had determined the best price was from a company that needed that time to deliver the unit).

This provider was excellent. I called another local competitor first (slightly more highly rated on Angie's list) but felt that their price schedule was high. So then I tried Tech Air. Not only were they less expensive, they squeezed me into their schedule that day (no waiting 4 days like the other place). The tech was fantastic - called me to let me know he was running 10 min late due to traffic. Fixed the problem quickly for the rate I was quoted on the phone. He also did a little extra work while he was here (cleaned a filter and extra tubing) free of charge. Also talked through some other thoughts about the system and was able to answer all the questions I had (the house is new to us, so I'm just getting to know the systems). Overall, would highly recommend based on my experiences, and I'll plan to use them in the future for dehumidifier service and A/C.

Went very well. The technical, Andrew Bourque, did a very thorough job. Tested all the vents for proper air flow. He recommended a few additional purchases I should make for good furnace safety. He was professional, courteous, on time and did a good job.

Technician came out for humidifier installation and boiler inspection. He told me upon seeing the location that it was not possible to install the humidifier, the pipes would freeze. So we had to cancel that. He conducted the boiler inspection satisfactorily thereafter.

Bill has been to my home several times. He is always professional, friendly and does a great job! He makes the extra effort to ensure everything is clean and neat, explains everything in detail and ensures I'm happy with his work.

It went very well. Wendell and his team were responsive and Wendell is very knowledgeable, patient, and excellent at what he does. He gave us some good options and our system has worked better since. People from his team have returned for other service and were good too.
