Cornelius delivered the compost as promised and was very careful not to disturb anything in the garden around the area. Turnaround time was quick, and it was easy to arrange a convenient time for delivery. Prices are comparable to other soil products in the area, and I think the quality is much better. Very nice people to do business with!"

"We called a couple of days before we wanted the delivery. They were able to give us a day and time right away. The day of the delivery they called and said they needed to switch the time from the afternoon to the morning. They were able to give us an 1 1/2 hour window so it wasn't a big deal. The driver was able to get down our long narrow driveway to dump the dirt close to the backyard. We didn't think they could pull it off, but they did. Also, we called a couple of places, and their prices were competitive."

"The folks at Alpine were very helpful in assisting us with our choice; we told them we wanted a mulch that would not "wash away" during heavy downpours of rain, as much of it would be on a slope. They told us the hardwoods were best suited for us. They had several color selections, and they took the time to tell us exactly where the raw materials come from and how they do most of the prep work on site. The employee who delivered the mulch was a true artist - 20 yards is a huge amount to leave on a driveway, but he was so adept at emptying the truck and ensuring that the product stayed exactly where I had directed. Delivery was on time as scheduled. We hired a landscape crew to spread the mulch that very day. The mulch has weathered all of our spring rains (and there have been many this year!) just beautifully. The color is still strong and we feel we have found a great source for future mulch needs. Their pricing is competitive, and the delivery charge ($35) was better than most."

"I had decided to replace the bed of weeds and grab grass with a new lawn. I had been referred by my Uncle and neighbor to the Grass Farm over the local home improvement stores as the GF cuts the sod the morning they deliver it. I called the GF in Morgan Hill in late May, after hours (Open: 7am to 12pm, M-F), and left a message to get some price quotes. I didn't get a call back, but figured since my soil wasn't ready for sod it wasn't a big deal. As I got closer to getting everything ready I gave the GF another call, this time during business hours. I got someone on the phone pretty quick and she gathered some information, made some suggestions and provided my pricing quotes for pick up and delivery. The price quotes for 612 feet of the Double Dwarf Champion which was recommended for my area was around $225 if I picked it up or an additional $90 to have it delivered with the rise in sod cost ($0.335 to $0.395/sq. ft.), fuel charge and delivery fee. She mentioned if I had a 1.5 ton truck I could carry the 2 pallets required for 612 feet of sod. I hung up and called the 2 people I knew with large trucks and quickly realized it was not worth the trouble of trying to borrow or rent a truck and drive all the way down to Gilroy to pick up the sod (Only the Gilroy location is open for weekend order pick-ups). I called back and spoke to a different person but they were able to pull up my quote, finalize my order and schedule the delivery for that Saturday. She took my credit card info over the phone. I ended up adding a sod knife ($5) and a bag of start fertilizer ($16) to the order and was told I would receive a call to confirm the delivery time a day prior to the delivery. On that Friday, I received a call from a gentleman informing me that my sod order of 612 ft. would be delivered between 7am and 8am the next day. I joked and said I don't even get to sleep in! He chuckled and mentioned that I didn't have to be there to accept the order. He mentioned the pallets could be left in the driveway, if cleared, or at the curb. I asked him to place the pallets by the curb next to the front yard were the sod was going to be laid. When I woke up Saturday morning around 9am I had 2 pallets of sod sitting right at the curb next to prepped soil with my sod cutter, fertilizer, receipt, credit card slip and installation/maintenance directions. 2 hours later I had a lawn! My only grips are I didn't receive a call back from the voicemail I left for the sales staff and the price different per foot for the sod to have it delivered. I don't mind paying the delivery free and fuel surcharge, I expected it, but that plus a sod price increase I though was a little much. Either way, it was still easier to have them deliver in my situation and I will be ordering from them when I redo the back yard. I would recommend the Grass Farm to anyone looking for sod; they have an excellent product, they are professional on the phone and timely with their deliveries."

"ROB REALLY HELPED US TO GET OUR DECAYING YARD LOOKING PRESENTABLE FOR A SUMMER PARTY. HE WAS PUNCTUAL, PROFESSIONAL, AND EFFICIENT. "The project went like a dream. We have had lots of contractors over the years and even the best ones disappointed in some way. This was not the case with Adam. It went extremely well from the beginning to end. Adam started with many suggestions, met us at the rockyard and spent an afternoon going over options. This led to some important and very fortunate changes to our initial design. The work began on schedule and was completed very close to the initial estimate. He consulted with us at every step of the way and proposed a variety of alternatives when unanticipated problems arose. We discussed and agreed on any cost adjustments at each point along the way. His crew was neat, courteous and professional. They cleaned up every day. The final result is just great. Adam and his brother are real artist/craftsmen and clearly love stone and all that it can do. They both have a great eye for detail as well as the total look of the project. A wasteland has been transformed. The yard is beautiful and we love to work in it, entertain in it and just be there.
