The Microsoft Surface Neo, also known as the Microsoft Neo is an upcoming folding device announced during Microsoft's October 2019 Surface hardware event.[1] Unlike its sister device the Surface Duo, the Surface Neo was set to run Windows 10X, a version of Microsoft Windows designed specifically for foldable devices.[2] The device was initially expected to release in "Holiday 2020", but Microsoft has delayed it due to the inadequacy of Windows 10X.[3]
Background[edit]
The device was announced at Microsoft's Surface hardware conference in October 2019, alongside the Surface Pro 7, Surface Pro X, Surface Laptop 3, Surface Duo and Surface Earbuds.
In October 2020, the device's page was pulled from Microsoft's website.[4] It is still currently available in an archived version.
Software[edit]
The device was planned to launch with Windows 10X, a version of Windows designed intentionally for foldable devices, unlike its sibling device the Surface Duo, which launched with Android. Due to the cancellation of Windows 10X, it is unknown what the Surface Neo will launch with.
