CMDC Canadian Media Manifesto
The Canadian Media Directors’ Council (CMDC) launched its Media Manifesto on September 28th. (World News Day) CMDC member agencies have pledged to invest intentionally in key media outlets to help sustainably grow the Canadian media ecosystem and protect trusted information sources.
“Our industry relies on a strong and diverse range of media outlets. They keep us informed, promote accountability, support our economic recovery and form the backbone of our national fabric,” said Shannon Lewis, President CMDC. “We are asking leaders to take a pledge as the start of our ‘Canadian Media Manifesto’ mission. Advertising is a critical driver of the Canadian economy. There has never been a better time to invest in Canadian media and we’re coming back stronger than ever.”
Karine Courtemanche, CEO of PHD and Touché, Canada appointed CMDC Chair
Toronto, ON – January 17th, 2022 – The Canadian Media Directors’ Council (CMDC) announced today the appointment of Karine Courtemanche, CEO of PHD and Touché Canada, as Chair of the association’s board. Karine's appointment is effective immediately; she will serve for two years.
Recognized as an agent of change, Karine is a universally respected media executive with over 30 years of media agency experience. Her considerable strengths in strategic leadership and talent mentorship are bolstered by a diverse perspective on the Canadian marketplace.
CMDC YA 2021 AWARDS
On Thursday, October 28th from 4-5 pm, CMDC Youth Ambassadors will be hosting the 2021 Impact Awards - a live-streamed awards event on Twitch. Originally launched in 2017, this year marks the 4th award show for the CMDC Youth Ambassadors Program. This year's theme is “Impact,” which was chosen to reflect what all our winners will have in common - commitment and passion for making a difference in our media community.
The output is an experience unlike any other. The Youth Ambassadors’ collaborated with top gaming experts to bring about a partnership with Twitch and Rumble Gaming, creating an immersive entertainment experience. Thank you to all the CMDC YA Partners.
