Nominations Open for Graduate Division Internal Fellowships

The nominations are open for the 2022-23 academic year Graduate Division internal fellowships. In this cycle 30 competitive fellowships are available for a financial support value of over $700k.

Graduate students are nominated by their graduate programs for internal competitive fellowships. We urge students interested in being nominated for a competitive fellowship to contact their program administrator.

The fellowship nomination system opened on April 12, and will remain open through May 15. 

Student Food Market Updates: Registration, RSVP, and Friday Grocery Bag Pick-Up

We are excited to announce that registration and RSVP are no longer needed to attend the Student Food Market on Thursdays at Mission Bay and Parnassus. All current fee-paying UCSF students are welcomed at both locations during open hours.

We are also resuming Friday Grocery Pick-Up at Parnassus for a limited number of students who cannot attend the Student Food Market on Thursdays due to classes/clinic/rotations. Students may fill out the online request for Friday Grocery Pick-Up each week between Mondays 8 a.m.-Tuesdays 11:59 p.m. Students will be notified if a bag will be available for them by Wednesday of each week. Students must pick-up their grocery bag at the Student Success Center (MU-100w) between 8 a.m.-1 p.m. that Friday.  

Interest and Loan Payments Paused Until August 31 for Federal Student Loans

The Biden Administration has announced that all federal student loans will have their interest and payment paused until August 31. Due to the COVID pandemic, the White House announced it will be giving students additional time to manage their repayment options. For more details view the announcement from the Department of Education. 

Update: Health Profession Loans LDS, HPSL, NSL Loans Payment & Interest Paused Until May 1

The HRSA has announced that all Health Profession LDS, HPSL, NSL, PCL, NFLP loans will have their interest and payments paused until May 1st 2022. Health Profession Loan borrowers will need to request a forbearance if they do not want to make payments during this period. Now all Federal Student Loans, UCSF Campus Loans & DREAM Loans in addition to Health Profession Loans borrowers will have their interest and payment paused until May 1, 2022.

Update: UCSF University & Dream Loan Interest and Loan Payments Paused Until May 1st. Perkins Loan 3 Year Forbearance limit temporarily waived

UCSF students who borrowed campus based loans including the University Loan and Dream Loans will have their interest and payments paused until May 1st 2022. Health Professions Student Loans forbearance is set to expire January 31st 2022. Perkins loans have been in repayment since January 31st 2021. The Department of Education has lifted the 3 year forbearance limit for Perkins Loans. Perkins borrowers are now able to request forbearance status past the 3 year limit during the pandemic. Students must request this forbearance and provide documentation to quality.
