    I’m also incredibly happy to see , someone who knows the company better than anyone, optimistic about its future. I’m optimistic too. I hope that Twitter can finally be free of the censorship and shadow banning that has plagued it for years. I think it will be.

    . even went so far as to call it an “impossible situation”. I believe he’s talking about the situation that Twitter was in when he left. He had lost enough influence that it was out of his control and being run by people with a very specific agenda.

    Elon’s goal of creating a platform that is “maximally trusted and broadly inclusive” is the right one. This is also ’s goal, and why I chose him. Thank you both for getting the company out of an impossible situation. This is the right path...I believe it with all my heart.

    Over the past decade it has been pretty depressing to see censorship and shadow banning make their way into the platform. Many important and influential voices in media, news, politics, and entertainment have been suspended. For many, Twitter has not been a welcoming place.

    I left working at Twitter in 2012. I didn’t see anyone at the helm who had vision or ability to execute. The best idea they had was to fill everyone’s feed with stupid ads. But as an ex-employee I’ve always watched the company, hoping it would someday achieve its potential.

    Elon Musk decided not to join the Twitter Board. We were excited by the opportunity to collaborate and clear about the risks. We believed the best path forward was having Elon as a fiduciary of Twitter where he, like all board members, must act in the best interests of our company and our shareholders. The board offered him a seat (contingent on a background check and formal acceptance). The effective date was 4/9, but the same day Elon shared that he will no longer be joining. I believe this is for the best. We will always value input from shareholders and remain open to his. Our goals and priorities are unchanged. Let's tune out the noise and stay focused on what we’re building.

    With a Twitter buyout seeming increasingly likely, does it make sense to buy tomorrow for $48-49 and then sell in the near future to at $54.20? Seems like a no-brainer if you think the buyout is going to go through, right? Or am I missing something?
