When you're at a party but it's starting to get too loud and then some rich DB shows up with his incel toadie friends and stinks up the place with Axe body spray... that's maybe what it feels like here, so I'm taking a step back from Twitter for a little bit.

This is what I've been saying about Tumblr which is that I would've loved it 15 years ago (many of my friends did when it launched) but I don't see it as a viable replacement for Twitter because it looks like the Sanrio Surprises of social media platforms. Not bad just different.

This is cool

BUT if Tumblr is going to eventually move its infrastructure to WordPress, why not start by pushing WordPress to natively support indieweb features like ActivityPub first? (Honest question because I'm not that smart.)

My kids are watching The Santa Claus reboot/series and it’s as bad as you’d expect it to be. The opening scene is that Santa can’t get up the chimney. And if you’re wondering, yes the premise that Santa can’t “get it up” keeps coming up and seems to be the main plot.

was a fantastic guest and there is a surprise coming too! It feels bittersweet to end this year's amazing batch of interviews now, as the connections were mostly thanks to twitter.

Twitter's owner destroying Twitter by using Twitter to publicly argue with and fire his Twitter employees is wild. He's doing a great job of filtering the team down to just the sycophants, instead of actually respecting the ones who used the actual tool to confront power.

Someone pointed out that "all my cool, creative friends from high school" sounds like a humblebrag but I just mean _cool to me_ NOT to the student population at large. We spent a lot of our lunch period in the library learning Geocities and discussing Neon Genesis Evangelion ok?

Looking at

Spending a little bit of time with Laravel/Livewire instead of WordPress is sort of mind-blowing. They obviously serve different goals but the attention to detail, the intuitive tooling, the documentation, the way things “just work”- Laravel is a lot of fun.
