We at ASQ Education are in the process of recruiting an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant or an individual who has recently graduated and holds relevant experience in supporting young children’s literacy and numeracy interventions. The role is based in South-West London and is due to start as soon as possible and will run until the end of the academic year. The school would prefer a candidate who has previous experience working inside a primary school as a Teaching Assistant, or within a relevant SEND department. The school would also be keen on graduates who are looking to train to become teachers in the future.

 

The Role In the role of Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to support classes of differing levels of ability in a variety of subjects, the main subjects that will require support are numeracy & literacy. Under the direction of the SENCo and the homeroom teacher, you will be fully supported throughout the school day. The school are keen to support its Teaching Assistants in delivering additional support where it is needed. You will be expected to support both the teaching and support staff effectively within the school. As well as co-operating with parents or carers, students, and external agencies and ensuring safeguarding laws are always adhered to. As such, any individual who owns a strong academic background and can demonstrate their ability to support young children to improve their literacy and numeracy will likely be considered.

 

The Ideal Candidate
    Experience in working within Primary Schools and/or supporting a relevant SEND Department (essential) Capacity to form honest working relationships with pupils, parents or carers and colleagues alike Good oral and written communicative skills are vital Good organisational and time management skills as well as the ability to work under pressure To act proactively and show initiative when engaging with pupils and teachers To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to the role To understand that you must always be a good role model for students and colleagues This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to train towards being a teacher This is a Primary school with outstanding professional development for those looking to grow their career in education
