"SOD Home Group is seriously the best group of people to work with! They turned around my complete house - kitchens, bathrooms, floors, patio, backyard and studio were all renovated. It was a complete overhaul and a tremendous job. Everything was so well done, but in particular I need to give a shout out to the work they did converting the garage into an open plan studio unit I can now Airbnb. That work is truly beautiful and has been noticed by guests and realtors for its quality! To give you some context–before SOD Home Group redid my house, it was an old house that had been shown little love over the years. The original bathrooms were in such a sad state–the showers leaked into the basement whenever the water ran. There was little to no natural light in the house at all. Eden from SOD Home Group helped me to redesign the entire house to modernize it into a beautiful home! Oren oversaw the entire project for 18 months so really so much credit for this job goes to him (see further down for even more of my recommendation!) We started with the bathrooms, which was a complete overhaul of the tiling, toilet, shower, vanity, etc. For the shower, they tarred and sealed the base of the shower completely–which has turned out beautifully. Then we did the kitchen which again was a complete overhaul job. Cabinets, countertop, appliances, cutting a hole in the wall to accommodate the new countertop island… it was all handled so well! Then we did floors… for the entire house! These floors are gorgeous–they’re treated reclaimed barn wood with beautiful texture and grain. I recommend asking for them to be double waxed (just my preference) because I like to make sure they’re very smooth, but some people prefer the rougher texture under foot. All the walls inside and outside the house were completely painted. We worked hard to figure out the color scheme. Oren has a great sense of color–he was such a great help in this process!!! I went with a simple gray and white for the exterior paint, which let the natural red brick and wood of the craftsman shine through! I’m so happy with the results–it makes the house look brand new!!! Then the Pearl team moved on to the garage/studio conversion. This was such an epic job I can’t even describe!!! As we began digging, we found that the old garage unit was missing a foundation! Because of city regulations, we couldn’t move any of the existing walls in the remodel, so Oren and his amazing team actually dug under the existing structure and installed a cement foundation!!! This was an epic undertaking and we followed the city codes very closely. Everything was done to code and done amazingly well! The results really speak for themselves, so look at the photos–I now have a 400 sq ft open plan self-contained studio I can rent or AirBnB for additional income! And finally, the team moved on to the backyard and patio! This involved knocking down existing brick wall and digging up 6ft deep concrete installed by the previous owner, which was a complete eyesore to the property! My backyard isn’t big enough to accommodate a bobcat, so the team spent weeks digging up this concrete slab with jackhammers and shovels! What was installed in its place is a beautiful firepit, garden wall, and a new cedar wood fence. They also installed pavers as footpath and new garden boxes for growing herbs. Oren also brought in a team to install a patio cover, which now provides beautiful shade for parties during the day! SOD Home Group did such a great job throughout the whole house, were so professional, and really went out of their way to make sure everything was the best. I had my home revalued shortly after the renovation and it skyrocketed in value because of the work from SOD Home Group. Finally, if you get the chance to be so lucky, ask to work with Oren. You’ll be thankful you did! I’ve worked with him for the past 18 months and I can say without a doubt he put his heart into the project and went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the results. He has impeccable taste, attention to detail, and a big heart for his clients - all winning combinations for a stellar project manager! He has a wonderful network of people who can get him the best deals on materials - he’s loved and trusted by his team! Oren follows up with his clients to make sure everything is working perfectly and to make sure you are truly happy with the result. "Pros: Overall, good, and we're happy with the results. The crew foreman asked questions throughout the job to make sure our preferences were being met. Cons:The work crew damaged some PVC sprinkler pipes while preparing the ground. If it weren't for us paying attention, they were going to pour right over it. Another problem is that they didn't clean up all the debris from the job, and we had to call them back to finish cleaning up. When they did clean up, they put some of the refuse (dried concrete blobs, gravel) into our green waste trash bins that we had to remove ourselves. The crew also left behind a few disposable water bottles/drink cups behind in the surrounding bushes."

"These guys are VERY busy... Eli and Moran (pronounce Moe-Han) are straight shooters and probably more NY than SF in terms of style, but they are veryknowledgableand honest about their work. They can control a lot of the costs because they have their own painters, electricians, plumbers as workers - not as subs - this is great from a timing perspective for getting the job done and the liability for work - you know who is responsible for repairs. They also do the design work on the kitchens / bathrooms so you don't have to go outside. Our initial meeting was pretty interesting as we each had to learn about communication styles and determine how we would/could communicate with each other if they were our contractor. The only drawback with them is that they do have specific design ideas and - while they maybe valid - their style makes them come off as pushy vs informative (for example the use of stamped concrete vs pavers for our back yard or stucco vs siding for the back of our house - these rest is siding they suggested stucco for the expansion). Their estimate was very detailed but did leave a lot of room for questions about materials, etc... definitely a two step process - and maybe three. We did not end up using them, but they were a strong consideration and our #2 choice."

"First of all- ?Kudos to Julie T and the Black Diamond team! ? An awesome job!! We quoted our project to several paver companies but we selected Black Diamond. Why? ?We were very impressed by the design concepts, product suggestions and costs that were presented by Julie T and Black Diamond pavers. ?Julie had a sensor of humor and was accommodating to our requests and changes and kept the costs competitive . ? Our concept drawings from competitors were hand drawn and lacked clarity- Julie provided a color CAD model with all details and itemized costs. Our job? ?We had ?larger job that consisted of ?driveway removal and replacement w/ pavers, and then removing multiple concrete patios on the side and back yard and also replacement with pavers. Start to finish, 4.5 weeks. The team at Black Diamon dug out, and seated 10" of gravel and then 1" ?of ?sand with pavers on top- ?all of this is done on top of a geo barrier to prevent sinkage. ?The team ran under ground chase lines (for future sprinklers and electrical). ? Yes, it is a messy process, but the BD paver team kept the site clean and well organized. ?Julie was key to our success, she stayed on top of our job with multiple visits during construction, and any (minor) issue we brought up were quickly and professionally dealt with. Our driveway is gorgeous and gets plenty of compliments from our neighbors. ?The new patio in the back is the center of entertainment and now a family gathering area. ?Yes!! ? Without question, ?we would call and/or refer any work to Julie and the Black Diamond ?team ?for any future paving?projects."

"Jorge, Mauro and the team at Viking Pavers did an excellent job installing a new patio and walkway in my backyard. They dug up the old, broken concrete, leveled the ground and put in McNear Cobblestone Charcoal and Tan pavers. What a difference! My yard is starting to look less like the Sanford & Son scene I inherited when I bought the house. They were flexible when I had them rearrange the pattern bit which took extra time, but all in all they finished it in two days. They kept the communication lines open and were easy to get a hold of. I'd call them again and am hoping to have them do my front walkway and steps next."

Sergio sanded, sealed, and stained the front entryway and even painted the top and sides which we hadn't discussed, but he did at no extra charge just because it enhanced the look of the finished job. Now the front of the building looks beautiful. Even more important, after the exterminator got rid of the rats in the basement, Sergio, instead of just filling in the holes in the foundation, built an entire new concrete wall that the rats couldn't get through now if they had a sledgehammer and he went around and made sure all the other holes were plugged up. AND, when they were finished, Sergio's men even cleaned up all the rat droppings! All for the originally quoted (and incredibly competitive) estimate. Unbelievable!"

"Everything went extremely well during the project, and the finished product looks fantastic. The workers were extremely polite, professional and responsive. They even went as far as to remove a non-functioning hard line gas grill in front of my house that ran beneath the patio I was replacing. "I had experience already with All Seasons Construction and was very happy with their retrofit work. Mark Corallo is very professional and easy to work with. This time we wanted to replace a cement walkway and replace a cracking retaining wall. Mark always has great ideas in solving certain issues that he anticipates and is always prompt with an estimate. This time we had Miguel as the foreman for the job and I was equally impressed with him. There are always minor adjustments that need to be made throughout the project and I found Miguel very bright and also an excellent problem solver. He gave me his cell phone the first day of work and always responded quickly if I ever called him, even when I called a week after the project was over. The crew kept the area fairly clean and everything was picked up when they were done. Overall, I am very impressed with the professionalism and quality of this companies work and will certainly use them in the future."

"My driveway width had been extended close to 4' by the previous home owner to accommodate 2 cars with enough room for one vehicle to fully open its door without hitting the other car. The problem is I think the previous owner did the concrete pour himself or hired someone who didn't know what they were doing. The driveway extension had cracks in it and as we used the area more & more it began to breakup & fall apart. I got a quote from a concrete company working on a house down the street. The quote given was $1,500 for the total job. Trying to save some money I decided to break up the extension & haul away the concrete myself. The day I started breaking up the concrete I received Jason's "Big Deal" email from Angie's List & purchased the "Contractor for a Day" deal. I emailed Jason & sent him the job details, measurements & pictures of the area. He said the job could be completed in a day as long as I cleared out all of the broken concrete. I confirmed that was my plan and that it would be gone the following weekend. Jason said he'd contact me next week with a list of supplies needed for the job. Once I hauled away the broken concrete I sent Jason some updated photos, he confirmed that the site looked good & he would take it from there. He emailed me a list of items need for the job and we set the start date for 10/14 @ 8:30am. (Item list: 3 - 2'x4'x10' / 3 bundles of 12" stakes / 100' of 1/2" rebar / 1 roll tie wire / 20 ? 2" rebar spacer blocks / Short Load of Concrete) I tried to locate a concrete vendor on Angie's List, but kept finding contractors/companies who wouldn't provide just the concrete. After 3 failed calls I contact Jason for suggestions, he said he didn't have a preferred vendor in the area & the easiest way to find a company that would deliver ready mixed concrete would be the yellow pages. He was right, the first company I called (CRM, Inc.) would delivery short loads of ready mixed concrete for business or residential job sites. The cost was $232/yard and I needed 1.5 yards for the job. Due to rain earlier in the week Jason had to push the job back a day to 10/15. I scheduled the concrete delivery for 10/15 at 11am. On Saturday Jason showed up right at 8:30am. He introduced himself & his crew, went over the job details and then began working. About 2/3rds through prepping the site he mentioned how they were way ahead of schedule & to see if we could move up the concrete delivery. I called CRM, Inc. and they couldn't confirm how much quicker they could get it out there but they would send the truck once it got back from an earlier delivery. The concrete truck arrived around 10:10am, got set up & began to pour. 10 minutes later, I paid the driver & the truck left. Jason & crew continued their work, matching the line pattern to the existing driveway. He also asked if I had any kids and if they wanted to put their hand prints in the concrete...I have no kids, but a nice gesture. The job was completed around 12:30pm. Jason went over the finishing formalities; mist the area with water in a few hours, don't drive on it for at least 48 hours & I could remove the framing on Monday. Since it was only Jason's labor purchased with the Big Deal, I was a little more involved in the project than I thought I would be. I broke up & removed the old concrete, sent a couple emails to Jason, spent around 45 minutes at Home Depot buying supplies and about 30 minutes on the phone trying to order concrete...resulting in a 50% saving over the original bid by another vendor. Jason was helpful, responsive, friendly & professional. The end result was exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend Precision Built Construction to anyone and I already have another job in mind...now I just have to create a budget for it."

"Manuel Iglesias, the owner, designed and installed the hardscaping and drainage in my front yard. Manuel was very knowledgeable & was able to incorporate my ideas into a beautiful combination of steps, walkways, and patios. The hardest part of the project for me was making a final decision on design & materials. Once I had done that, Manuel & the rest of his team took over & I didn't have to worry about a thing. They were incredible.....their work was impeccable, they showed-up on time, they worked hard everyday, they were considerate, they were responsive to any and all questions, and everything was cleaned at the end of the day. I would recommend Manuel & his team without reservations. It is difficult to find contractors who do what they say and take pride in their work. This company is special. They are highly skilled, honest, and hardworking. I wanted to thank Greg, one of the guys, for going back to my house after the job was done to remove some debris & I noticed he also put my bench back on the porch since it was dry. These guys go above & beyond."
