3Fun (3FUN) is a location-based mobile online dating application for Android and iOS.[1]

Usage[edit]

3Fun is used in the United States, United Kingdom, and other countries. In the UK city of Nottingham alone, it is used by more than 2,000 people.[2] Other cities where 3Fun is most popular include New York City,[3] San Antonio, Texas[4] [5][6] and Glasgow, Scotland.[7] Outside English-speaking countries, it is also used in Brazil,[8] the Netherlands,[9] Spanish-speaking countries,[10] and various other countries.

The application is particularly popular among Generation Y users.[11] As of May 2019, there were approximately 100,000 monthly downloads, and more than 2 million total downloads. In January 2022, 3Fun partnered with British security company DigitalXRAID to implement penetration testing in order to ensure users' data security.[12] 3Fun's database is encrypted, and all data is secured and stored on Amazon US. 3Fun has also implemented Amazon WAF, a web application firewall that helps protect against common web exploits and bots. The platform also uses imprecise locations to generate approximate distances for potential matches to further protect the privacy and safety of its users.[13]

Other similar niche dating apps comparable to 3Fun include Feeld (previously called 3nder).[14]
