I am having standing water under my pier and beam home and didn't know where to start. Since the home was supposed to have a sump pump, I started out calling Pumps of Houston to evaluate the pump and give any advice. Dana in the service dept was very professional and nice. Roger and Anthony came out within 3 days to evaluate the situation. It turns out, that I did not have a sump pump after all! But, they were extremely professional, and helped me problem solve some reasons for why there might be water under the home. Both of them cared about the outcome - even though it wasn't a problem that they really service anyway (since there turned out to be no sump pump to repair). I was impressed by their professionalism and commitment to fixing a problem - even if it's not within their domain.

Called & talked to Eric Neuman on 7-28-06. Said he would send his crew out in a couple hours. They showed up & determined that the Sump-Pump Float Sensor was out of the pump. They replaced the broken part and it is working fine. They were courteous and very quick and efficient. And the price was less than first thought. I was very impressed at their quick response and expert work! I will call them again on any septic work I need done.

What is ironic is that some of the people I was interviewing the guy I chose uses them. I guess he subcontracts with these people. All though I did not have the work done with them. I was very satisfied with all the people I called. I was very happy with them.

Proprietor Ryan Finn responded same day to our urgent distress call to replace a non-functioning sump pump (our basement had flooded 2 days earlier while we were out of town). Ryan was over within 2 hours of initial call, very courteous and helpful, immediately diagnosed the problem, and provided a quote. I had the pump in within a matter of 1 hour. Best part is, Ryan went ''above and beyond'' by presuming the original fault was with an external coil (plastic tube) through which the pump drained the water, which probably froze and caused the water to backup and pump to eventually fail. Being from Texas, I never knew this could happen but was very pleased he pointed it out to me so I could avoid the issue in the future. He additionally recommended a landscaper trench a line to the sewer to avoid the issue permanently. Ryan also recommended a backup on the sump in case of power or other failure.

On Saturday while I was cleaning the sump pump I forget to trip the circuit breaker. So when I accidentally touched one of the wires to ground I 'fried' the circuit board. Over the phone they talked me thru troubleshooting to determine if was merely the on-board fuse or the relay. It was NOT the fuse. They came out one (1) hour later and bypassed the relay so we would have AC for the weekend. They didn't charge me for this service call to bypass the relay. They came out Monday afternoon with a new circuit board. While he was at it, I had him checkout the rest of the HVAC. They were very professional and did not try to sell me stuff I did not want nor need. Having an electrical background I was able to discern these guys know their business and don't play games as others I have had the sorry pleasure of knowing. It was because of their manner and attitude that I had them checkout the rest of the HVAC.

I had to replace a sump pump back up battery because I had failed to put water in the cells of the battery. I have a second pump and back up battery. The plumber said he would check the second battery to ensure it would not suffer the same fate as the first. He said it was fine and wrote he had serviced the battery on my invoice/receipt. A short time later (I do not have my notes in front of me, but I think it was about six weeks), the second battery also died. When I checked the water lever in the cells, I found the cells completely dry. When I called, Isley denied responsibility. The poor girl on the phone said she talked with "Mrs Isley." Mrs Isley apparently talked with the plumber and stood behind his story that he had serviced the battery, including adding water to the cells. Incredibly, Isley claimed the water had completely evaporated in the short time since they had performed the service and that was not their fault. But, they said "since I was such a good customer" they would go back and give me my Angie's List discount on the call they made to replace my previous battery and a puny reduction it was. These batteries are very expensive. Clearly, contrary to his statements, the plumber did not check the water level in the second battery. The water simply could not have evaporated in all cells in the short amount of time between the Isley "service" and the death of the battery. Isley had to have known their defense was frivolous. I thought about filing a small claims lawsuit but decided the hassle factor and bad "vibes" were not worth it. I am saddened to make this report but think it important to keep the list informed. I will never use Isley again.

I recently purchased an older house Sugar Land. The front plant bed was outdated and the left side yard and backyard were in a horrible state with no grass and no plant beds. More seriously, the back and left side yards flooded after each rain. Following a mid-January, 2012 storm in which my back yard and left side yard were flooded with several inches of water, I had had enough! I researched area landscapers on Angie's List and was impressed by recent positive reviews for Peace of Green Landscaping. I called James Hill at Peace of Green about installing a drainage system and, to my astonishment, he suggested that he should come right out to see the back and side yards while the water was still standing. Within a couple of hours James had reviewed the flooded yards and shortly after I had his estimate for a new drainage system. I was quite pleased with the estimate and James was able to start the project in a timely manner. Working with James and his crew during the drainage system installation was a pleasant, positive experience. I especially liked James' approach to quality and customer service. I found James knowledgeable, helpful, responsive to requests, and able to make changes and modifications on the fly as necessary. He also had one of the hardest working landscaping crews I had ever seen. As a result, I hired James for several additional landscaping projects. I will definitely be calling Peace of Green Landscaping for estimates on any future landscaping needs.
