My old 8x8' "fallaparticle board" shed was no longer repairable, so I decided this time to get a really good replacement. You can't beat Reeds Ferry. The fun starts by designing your own shed on their web site, so you don't end up with a cookie-cutter product. My design was an 8x10', gambrel-roof shed, with vinyl siding. I put in two windows, one on each 10-ft wall, a loft inside, double doors in one 8-foot end, with a ramp leading in. The siding and roof material are exact matches for the house, so the new shed really fits in with the overall look of the property. The day after I submitted my order, a Reeds Ferry representative called to go over the plan, ask questions about the site, and set a date for the install. Installation had to be delayed by a day, due to a snow storm, but Reeds Ferry arrived on time the next day and started work immediately. Work started by tearing down the old shed and removing the debris. After preparing the site and putting the platform in place, they had me OK the location and then I was free to leave for work. When I returned in the afternoon, my new shed was complete, and the area was cleaned up as if nothing had happened. The new shed exceeds my expectations. One surprise was how much taller it is inside -- 10 ft from floor to peak. The rafters of the loft are about 6.5 ft above the floor, which makes it easy to pass underneath. The loft and gambrel roof create a large and very useful extra storage space. Everything about the shed is solidly built, and I expect it will last well beyond its thirty-year warranty. Considering that the project included tear down of the old shed and building of the new one, I think the price was very reasonable. (I'm sure you could do it all more cheaply, but I doubt you would get nearly as good a product.) I couldn't be more pleased!
