I called their 24 hour emergency line on a Saturday evening and was told a technician would call me right back. The technician never called me back. I finally ahd to get another service to come out and clean my drain.

When there is a plumbing problem, it is usually a big one. They advertise 24 hour emergency service, but with calls not returned it really doesn't matter.

Great, came out Saturday night when I called and since we had an emergency he was able to resolve the problem in less than 24 hours. Cleaned up the entire site and minimized extra expenses of tile work.

I had a plumbing emergency. We had to shut off the water for the entire house. I called 5 different plumbing companies and this one was the only one willing to come right away. Even though others advertised as 24/7 service, when I called they weren't available til the next day or days after. Jaime went out of his way for us. He came on a Friday afternoon and was very professional. He fixed our problem. I would highly recommend him!! I hope not to ever need a plumber again but will only call this company if I need to. I found myself in a horrific bathroom situation on a rainy Sunday morning. While I will spare the details, I can only imagine what my family would have had to endure if Ben hadn’t come to the rescue! They are very good. They come right away. They don't charge extra for weekend work. They are very efficient.

My 93-year old mother-in-law lives alone and has limited vision. When she couldn't get hot water for her shower, a quick inspection of the water heater indicated leaks. Based on another review site, I called several plumbers for an appointment; one was out of business and the other two didn't answer their phones, I then tried IPS, who answered immediately and had a technician at the house within an hour. The water heater was replaced the next day, at a fair price, properly permitted, and by courteous workers. Thank you IPS!

They were great, one of the only plumbers I could get out that afternoon. Price was very reasonable. Fixed issue at hand and have requested quotes on other possible issues.

Called to get quote. Courteous but would not provide labor rates over the phone. Scheduled appointment to get a quote - serviceman on time but couldn't pinpoint leak. He suggested I call a leak detection company first. Leak detection pinpointed the leak rather easily (without the fancy equipment they brought). Called Superior to fix the pipe. They arrived within an hour of my call. Technician wouldn't give me a quote till the hole was dug and suggested I get someone else to dig it. I called my landscaper who had two guys there immediately to dig the hole. Superior then quotes a price that seems high. Since it is 4 days without water I say ok. He done in 4 hours and comes back the next morning to check the connections, fill the hole, and turn the water back on.

First let me mention I hope this is the same Superior Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Services whose invoices show their Corporate Office as 1000 13th St, Richmond, CA. We have now called this company twice in an emergency, both times, oddly, on a Sunday, two years apart. I wrote a previous review of their excellent work the first time, so we turned to them again when we had our next plumbing drama. It started with the suddenly clogged drains that seemed to be bi-annual event. Ignacio and Rudy showed up promptly, cleared the drain, and also strongly advised that we replace the plumbing -- with photos that clearly showed the roller-coaster piping that guaranteed that we'd have this same problem over and over again (which we had been experiencing for years). Three days later, the back bathrooms were again slow draining, and (a) they immediately sent someone out to clear the drains again and (b) agreed to show up up the three days later (on a Monday) to replace the pipes. It meant we had to move out for at least 24 hours because they would have to tear out all the pipes under the house and completely replace them. It was hard for me to imagine that being done in two days . . . but it was. Ignacio called me when they arrived, called me when they left the first night, after locking up carefully. He called me when they arrived the next morning, promised that they would stay until they finished. I dropped by mid-day to see how they were doing, and they were confident they'd finish that day. They did. The before & after pictures they gave me were very helpful, and they also installed a discreet cleanout access in the backyard so, if there are future problems, plumbers would no longer have to climb on the roof and try to maneuver around a lot of bends and curves in the pipes. I have been very, very impressed with all my dealings with them. They have been honest, incredibly careful of our property, extremely hardworking, reasonably priced and deliver excellent service. Sooner or later I know we are going to have to replace the sewer line from the house to the municipal hookup -- I will definitely be calling Superior Plumbing to do the work.

That is part of the service agreement. They come out at a time that is convenient, usually very responsive. This was not an emergency but when i have had an emergency they have come out immediately.

We used a very highly rated plumber and it turned out to be a very bad experience. They didn't fix the problem. It happened on a Sunday. They completely gouged us. That night it kept leaking. We had to get them to come back the next day. They made the repairs. They did it right the second time, but it was a hassle. I had to call the owner and complain heavily for him to actually do something. Ultimately it was taken care of which is why we called them, but the price was high. They didn't do it right the first time. They ended up coming back the next day after we called them which was two days after the initial visit.

Technician showed up on time. Was very courteous and professional. Explained the process and install the emergency gas shut off switch in about 45 min.

Carlos was very responsive and called back immediately vs other handymen services high rated in Angie's list that don't call back unless your job is practically a remodel. Carlos got me out of an emergency where I needed him to come and fix a light fixture in my garage that was falling down almost on my car. He also made sure to stabilize the other fixture. In addition I had him do other smaller jobs around my house like fixing leaks in my showers, fixing my door frames so that the doors closed properly etc. these were things that annoyed me on a daily basis that he fixed and he charged me a very reasonable rate to fix these things after he fixed the lighting fixture. I got quotes from others on similar type projects where they wanted at least $1500 for a job before they even came out which was not what I needed. Thanks Carlos for coming on Sat for my emergency.

Called early Monday morning for a blocked sewer system (stopped up Sunday afternoon, with water backing up into the bathroom). Called to avoid an 'emergency' response price. No answer when I called at 7:30 am, left voice message, and figured if I had not heard back by 8:30, I'd try someone else. They called back at about 8:15, we spoke the details, and they said they were one a big job but would have someone come out 'within the hour' to check it out. 15 minutes later, two trucks pull up, and they immediately started checking things out. Determined there was no exterior clean-out set up, but discovered the seal on the guest toilet was compromised, so it would have to be replaced. They said they could snake it from there. So, we laid down protective covering for the bathroom and hallway from the door to the bathroom, then one left saying from here it was a 1-man job, and he would only be standing around watching. Within the hour, the remaining tech pulled the toilet, tested the system only to discover there was no longer a blockage. We tested all the drains/toilets and created a large outflow of water, but no draining problem. We concluded the blockage must have been temporary, and everything was now clear. He replaced the seal, caulked around all the toilets (the were never caulked originally), cleaned up, snake out the shower drains just to ensure there was no buildup of hair, and called it good. Overall charges...just for pulling the toilet, resetting the seal and resecuring. Very reasonable price. They filled me in on what would be the expected costs to install an external clean-out, but no pressure. Said it was most likely a temporary blockage, told me what to watch for just in case, and gave me contact information if something else happened. Been 3 weeks, everything is fine, and we're pleased as punch.

I live in a condominium with a common water line. The water pipe into my home was severed because of a poor solder job performed by the HOA to repair a previous leak. This pipe is also a hose connection used by the HOA landscapers. I observed water gushing out of the severed line at a rate of about 10 gpm. I closed the valve to stop the leak, which also stopped my water service. I contacted the HOA emergency service. They did not respond. After 2 hours, I called Valley Plumbing. A live person answered the phone immediately. The plumber arrived within 2 hours and the repair was completed in approximately 20 minutes. The plumber was very professional and wasted no time at all. Note that I paid a premium price because of a weekend emergency repair. The cost was for 1 hour of overtime labor and included travel to my home. I would definitely use Valley Plumbing again and recommend them highly.

It's never a good time to have your toilets stop working, but it's especially stressful on a Sunday evening at 7 pm when you have family visiting from out of town. I called 3 plumming services: the first got back to me right away but their On-call tech was already booked; the second I left a message (who didn't call me back until the next day); and Mike at Valley Plumming who actually ANSWERED my call! Yea! Mike explained up front the hourly rate & that we would be paying double time due to the late hour on the weekend. The technician worked quickly & efficiently to resolve the problem. He was neat & left everything clean. We were very pleased that everything went well & he was done in less than 2 hours. I would recommend Valley Plumbing for emergency services.

I contacted him after finding his business on Yelp. He answered when we called on a Saturday afternoon. He was able to come out on short notice. The problem was that tampons had clogged the plumbing’s lines. It was a disaster of a mess and he cleaned everything up very well after the problem was resolved. He came out on short notice on a Saturday afternoon. He was very pleasant, professional and meticulous. We are very happy with his service.

At 2:00 pm on a Friday afternoon, I turned on my hot water valve in my bathtub to rinse something out. The water was on full blast, and when I went to turn it off, the spigot just turned freely back and forth but the water stayed on. Friday afternoon. 2:00 pm. Oh, also - 4th of July week so lots of people on vacation. Luckily my son in law was able to turn off our hot water, so after 20 minutes of panic, the water was off and I set about calling plumbers. One company I called, which had no technicians available, was kind enough to recommend Tyler Pina at Pina Plumbing Company. I live in Mill Valley, CA, and Tyler's company is in a great location in Corte Madera with easy access to all of Marin and San Francisco. I left him a message and he called back within minutes, ready and willing to do whatever it took to solve our problem. I was lucky, in that my son in law was able to pull off the faucet handle and isolate and remove the cartridge, which we gave to Tyler, and he made it to the plumbing supply store in time to order the new cartridge (we have an odd brand of faucet so our part was not one normally kept in stock). We were able to then reinstall the old cartridge in the "closed" position so that we had access to hot water while waiting three days for the new cartridge. Today, Tyler came to the house and installed the new part. He also spent time trying to help us diagnose a problem with our hot water recirculating system, which he did not charge us for. I highly recommend Tyler, and I will use him again in a heartbeat. He is kind and thoughtful, responsive, and I can tell even by this one set of interactions that he is scrupulously fair with his pricing. As I write this review (July, 2016), I believe Tyler has had his own company for about a year, after a decade working for someone else. I don't write a lot of reviews, but if you are reading this it might be because you are having a plumbing emergency, and you are wondering if you'll find a plumber who knows what he's doing, and who won't overcharge you, AND who will be a pleasure to have in your home. Dennis returned our call within five minutes, but as he had many other emergencies that day. Our turn came at 7 pm. They assessed the situation, brought out the torch and extractor, replaced the faucet and put us back together in twenty minutes. He advised us how to proceed. Then they hurried away to yet another emergency call. We were very pleased with the experience and will certainly contact them first for emergency or planned plumbing projects.
