    I have taken the attendance policies that were supposed to be in the syllabus and removed them entirely because they are nothing but punitive fantasy in the context of horrifically unmanaged global pandemic. Forgive me they were unsupportable so heartless and cold.

    Many of my students last semester said colleges are assuming that all students want to be back in person but they said many students don’t want to be in person and are scared and would rather have option to be online.

    This should happen at all unis. A lot of profs are older and even with vaccines they will likely have a harder time if they get infected.

    8/ For , due to risk of contamination, it is best to have a few masks and to rotate them. So, you wear a mask for a day, then leave it somewhere dry and clean to decontaminate for a few days, while you wear another one. Image:

    This basically suggests that Omicron is inducing an aberrant coagulation response, possibly from endothelial injury of blood vessels, platelet injury, or similar. So don't buy this "it's only upper airways" crap. It is systemic, like the others.

    Erin, from a lab perspective, our Omicron cases have had D-Dimer levels off the charts....I'm talking so high that the instrument cannot report a result. Previously, with Delta, we saw D-Dimers that required running in extended mode, but we were able to get results. Not now...

    It is instructive when one pays attention to the precautions that politicians take for themselves & their loved ones while telling everyone else that they should sacrifice their health or their life for the economy amid uncontrolled spread, lackluster workplace protections, etc.
