At-Ease Plumbing
Let me preface by stating that I'm a work-from-home professional. We had a fairly bad leak from our garbage disposal unit that was cratering in our cabinet. I knew this was something we needed to have replaced with some expediency. So I called around to several Angie's list "A-rated" providers and At-ease scheduled a technician to come out. I was on a work conference call when the plumber arrived and the plumber quoted me $500+ for a replacement disposal installed. I knew this was entirely too much considering Home Depot had the same disposal for $100 and offered professional installation for $109 w/ clean-up. So At-Ease essentially charged me $300 in additional labor for less than a 1/2 hour of work. A good business model I suppose? As I needed to have it fixed, I reluctantly wrote the check and let the technician perform the work. When I inspected the area near the sink, he had not bothered to clean-up the area what-so-ever. A filthy towel was placed in the sink, egg-shells from the disposal were scattered all over the ground. Apparently, the $300 in additional labor costs didn't come with a basic clean-up.

Technician arrived at scheduled time. My garbage disposal had leaked and flooded kitchen during dishwasher cycle and needed to be replaced. Technician replaced disposal, reattached plumbing to dishwasher, and left area very clean when done. Technician was friendly, professional and did job very well. Would definitely use this company again. Very satisfied with the work and with the employee.they sent to perform the duty.

Cathedral Plumbing of Texas LLC
My kitchen garbage disposal unit was replaced by Justin of Cathedral Plumbing Quickly and efficiently. Justin even recommended getting another sink drain strainer for the sink which connects to the garbage disposal unit. This would prevent spoons, jewelry, etc from getting down into and damaging the garbage disposal unit! DUH! There was a $250 garbage disposal unit replacement coupon on Angie's list and on the Cathedral Plumbing website which significantly mitigated Cathedral's initial $400 (less $50 "first time" customer) estimate. Justin left the house 45 minutes after he arrived.

Fox Service Company
I called around to get a quote for a plumber to come and look at the leak in the garbage disposal. Fox Service had the lowest initial service price. After the plumber got there, he suggested a replacement of the garbage disposal. Problem was, Fox only carries 1 and it costs $318 dollars. An average garbage disposal is $80 - $150 so I was quite floored by that price quote. Given the emergency and the time to call another plumber I had to go with that model. I wish he had different grades of garbage disposals as my unit is merely a rental.

The only issue I had was that the service was for an hour, but it didn't take him that long to do and there was an upcharge because he was installing a garbage disposal. In the offer to the special it said you could use it for a garbage disposal, but it didn't imply that there would be an upcharge for that.

I bought the new garbage disposal from Lowe's and called Blue Bonnet Plumbing to come out and install it. They came the next day and installed the garbage disposal. Their price was very reasonable. They were very nice and honest.

The work seems fine. But the price seems to be excessive. It took them 2 and a half hours and from what I can tell they only had to replace disposal basket and the the drainage. The actually charged $1098 for the reconnect. They gave us a 10% angieslist discount to make it $988. I will have to use some one more reasonable next time.

I called Ernie's Plumbing after calling several other plumbers. They were very polite and responsive on the phone. I asked if they could come out the next day, and they agreed to come first thing in the morning. When Donald arrived, he was polite and very helpful. I showed him the problem and he wrote out an estimate for me. When I agreed to the price, he went right to work. He didn't even mind my dog who was very excited!!! Donald was very neat, cleaned up after, and scheduled the next project on the spot!!! We will certainly be customers for life!

The have reasonable pricing. We are extremely pleased with their service. They were very quick, they came out on weekend evenings. They didn't charge extra for that service either. They do offer a plan for service and you only pay a % of the plan afterwards, it is relatively cheap.

I bought it and they put it in. They also re-did some plumbing, they fixed the water turn off and moved that down to the kerb. There was a problem with it, it didn't pass. We didn't get a permit because something happened and they came right back out and fixed it. So there was no problem. They came when they were supposed to, they did what they did and they cleaned up after themselves and that was it. They left the area pretty clean.

Recent Review: Bacon Plumbing was on my American Home Shield Home Protection Plan. I called them out for a leaking garbage disposal. They arrived w/i the 4 hours window. Completed the job in 22 minutes. I only had to pay the $75 trip fee which is a great deal. However, I had to asked for manual as they were ready to pack it up along with my old disposal. They were going to keep the new sink flange which they did not installed. When I asked them about installing the sink flange, they said it would cost extra, which is kind of odd since it came with the garbage disposal. They left after testing the garbage disposal, but did not run the dish washing machine as the dish washing machine is connected to the garbage disposal. I hope it won't leak. BTW, they had several not so favorable reviews on Yelp, but mine was a simple job. 8/15/14: When I ran the dishwasher last night, there were leaks where the garbage disposal was connected. Called AHS who sent a mesage to Bacon Plumbing. They called back and said they will be available to come out Tues b/t 10-2. The receptionist lady was helpful, and agreed to r/s for Sat 8/23/14. 9/6/14: After several missed appointments, Bacon Plumbing came to my house and repair the u-tube section if the drainage pipe where there was a small crack for no charge. They told me my scheduled appointment was "b/t 8 am to 4 pm". Only after I raised an objection that it would confine me to my house on a Saturday, and I would report in on Angie's List did the lady called her boss and narrow the call window to a 4 hour period. It should never have come to that! I called them because they were part of my AHS home owner insurance coverage. They did the job, but the communication can be better.
