They did a really nice job and the prices were reasonable. Terry came out, supervised and checked on his workers to make sure the services were being performed properly. Everything turned out great.

Plantformation

Seed pods not removed from palm trees, with landscaper telling us they needed to stay to provide nutrients for the tree (cannot verify that fact with any other landscaper, arborist, tree trimmer, online search). rock not completed, colors of plants were incorrect, spacing was off, and when we showed the landscaper, he moved plants but they are still incorrect. 3-4 plants were dead within a week, and now there are 4 more dying. Landscaper estimated number of plants incorrectly (evidently to save money), then argued about what we discussed with him multiple times. He was defensive, did not show up when promised, rescheduled 2-3 times, and now does not respond to phone calls or text messages. He has no idea how much money he has lost on future work we had planned for him (thousands of dollars).

AVOID...Avoid at ALL Costs! Paid $454 for 3 pallets of dead sod...nothing but dried-out roots in dried-out sand. (appears palleted and left out in a field somewhere for several months!) Immediately called and spoke to a women who said wait 2 weeks. Tried to find sod roots in all the sand and plant them. Our mistake...should have forced company to pick up all 3 pallets immediately! 2 weeks later called and text photos of dead sod...said will take care of us and had just been busy. 3 weeks now...NO response from company... we are putting grass seed.

Big Earth Landscape Supply

My experience was horrible and I believe they acted fraudulently and unprofessionally, failing to respond to my efforts to resolve the matter and instead charging my credit card without authorization. The planning process went well and the project started off relatively efficiently. I felt like we were in good hands. I then got an email and a call a couple days into the project saying that they were done and thanked me for my business. As it turns out they felt they had finished the job, left the site, and charged my card without my review of the project or authorization to charge my credit card. I notified the company immediately of my concerns and rain within the next two days confirmed the disaster. The fields had been stripped instead of tilled. Mounding piles of dirt, roots and debris had been left strewn all around the fields. The fields were now below the surrounding grade and more puddles were in the fields than before. The fields were the farthest thing from level and certainly not crowned. All the grass seed that had been planted was washed into the puddles. Roots and sticks remained in all the fields. The parking area was barely changed and I was billed for materials that were not used or substantiated by receipts or mathematical calculations. Over a 1/3 of the dirt was still left in the back. The asphalt millings were so poorly contaminated in the dirt that the entrances were still impassable. The asphalt millings in the loop were too thinly spread to resist scaling. Extra millings were left deposited in the grass. I was firm and clear that the project wasn't done and that I was not authorizing payment at that time. I met with them and emailed them without effect. Additional sod and landscape experts were then brought in to independently evaluate and confirm all that was stated above. Because of the destruction Big Earth Landscape caused to my property my project was delayed in excess of 6 months and cost over $23,000 to simply restore to the closest semblance of the original condition. The property will never be the samee.

Florida Tree & Ground Maintenance Inc

The job went better than I could ever imagine. The palm was very close to the house (3 feet from corner of the house) and sat over the septic tank. There was also concrete edging and a large bush within a foot of the palm. Nick showed up with his crew and they wasted no time in taking the palm down along with moving it out of the way as he brought in the equipment to grind the stump. After all of the palm tree was removed, along with all the orange seeds that fell off, my front yard was totally raked. All of the ground-up stump was also raked in the flower bed and you would never know looking at the yard that a tree had been removed. I still go out and admire the great job they did without damaging the house, edging or large bush. Not only did they do a great job, all the guys were so polite and answered all my questions. I knew when I saw his "Proposal" in my emails, that he was very professional and I would definitely hire them again and would highly recommend them for any services that they do.

The road had been regraded by another company by the owners of the property and they did not do the job correctly. Ryan told me about possible future problems . After several weeks and more rain, I noticed large cracks caused by the poor job of the previous company. Ryan gave me names of engineering firms that I may have to use. He was always up front and honest in his assessment. I would trust his company for any mountain landscaping or hillside problems. This work was done at my summer residence in WEAVERVILLE, NC

OB SOD GARDEN CENTER INC
5.0
The company rep came out at the appointed time to give the estimate. He was professional and curteous. We then made the appointment for the workers to come out to put down the sod. They arrived on time and completed the work in a short time. The job was well done and they cleaned everything up before they left. I've seen other sod companies work in the neighborhood and the sod that OB put down was layed down much more even and level. We followed the instructions for watering and the sod took hold fast. We had a few small areas that, after 30 days, didn't look very healthy. My husband called the rep and he immediately brought out more than enough sod to replace the very small sections. I was very impressed with their punctuality and the quality of their work. I would definitely recommend this company and I would use them again. We put in Bahai grass because it is more of a natural grass in Florida. We are very happy with it and it weathered well over this past winter (stayed mostly green), even though it was very cold and we don't water very much. The only thing I don't like about Bahai is the seed stalks that grow a foot in one week between cuttings at this time of year (June). Other than that, it is a great grass for our area and requires less water and fertilizer to maintain and stays green almost all year round. Good for the environment.

Clemente Martinez Tree & Landscaping Services Inc
1.0
Big disappointment. I had read about their good service on Angie's List so I gave them a chance and they handled my job very badly. I told him that I had had trouble finding good landscapers this past year since we moved to the area. I walked around my yard with him and showed him the job piece by piece, although I don't have a large yard. But, I wanted to be sure that he understood what was important to me. I needed all the bushes and hedges to be kept off of the exterior walls and the screened lanai. I needed the weeds to be either pulled or treated in the flower beds. I needed the palms, bushes and trees to be maintained without any dead, dying or yellow or brown trash items to promote both their health and the look of the yard. It wasn't as if I had acres and acres of manicured yards with a huge variety of plants that needed lots and lots of attention. My yard has the basic plants and is very small in comparison to most of my neighbors but I like to have my yard well-maintained for at least 6 months by a company before I give them the green light to add to my landscape and upgrade it. I need to find a company that can take care of the basics well before I add more to the job. But, even the basics seem to be too much for most of these landscaping companies and Clemente is no exception. They want to spend 15 minutes per week on my yard and get $110 per month for it. How can this be justified? I was a teacher/administrator and I didn't make $110 for 1 hr. of work with my level of education, a PH. D. cutting corners. Anyhow, he said that he would do the job but 2 crews took care of it on two separate visits. Once per week each would come, one to cut the grass and edge and the other would maintain the shrubs, trees, plants and pull the weeds. Suffice it to say, they missed something every week. I would call Clemente to tell him what I was happy about and what they need to improve or come back and complete because they had missed. And, he would tell me initially that it was good that I was giving him feedback because they were new to my job and they needed to learn exactly what to do, etc. After one month of work, last week, their trimming and clean up crew spent 5 minutes and missed my entire front yard, including cleaning up the Pigme Palms that had put out their seed pods. Before I could even open the door and call him last week, they had pulled away. So, I figured this week they would take care of it. But, today his crew didn't even show up so I called him to find out when they would be here and Clemente first said things that made no sense because he has a thick Spanish accent and his English isn't good. Then, he dismissed my question about why his crew didn't show up today and when they would come this week and said, "I have a lot of customers and I don't need your account. I don't like getting calls from you every week with some complaint. I am going home to find the check you sent for last month and give to you because I am not going to do your job any more. Find someone else." This is so unprofessional and terrible. Why is it so difficult finding a decent landscaping company that doesn't just zip in and out, cut corners and actually takes good care and pride in their quality work. I am so frustrated with the group of people who do physical labor in this country because they want to make a quick buck but are not willing to do a good job. Customer service is flushed down the toilet.
