Earn Your Online Certificate in Ancient and Classical History

American Military University’s flagship history program offers working adults the unique opportunity to earn a graduate-level education while exploring classical antiquity starting with ancient Greek and Roman history. American Military University is entirely online, allowing professionals the ability to complete a respected graduate certificate while maintaining their work-life schedules. Through his exciting program, students also delve into the Old World from the Age of Constantine and examine the political and social developments of the republic and early empire.

The curriculum spans the rise of the Byzantine emperors, the proliferation of Christianity, the defeat and capture of Constantinople, and the influence of Byzantium culture on the Western intellect. The program also emphasizes quality research, critical thinking, and effective writing skills which translate into a variety of professional applications. A special emphasis is placed on the social and political changes stemming from the Medieval World that sparked the Renaissance and Age of Discovery. These rich historical surveys are illustrative of the growth of humanism through the artwork, sculptures, architecture, market economies, and city-states that transpired. Students study these cultural influences as they also examine the monarchies of the Holy Roman Empire and the religious upheavals of Protestantism, Anabaptists, and Catholic Reformation. The curriculum is taught by experienced professors, many who are published authors, avid researchers and accomplished historians.
