    How to set a timer in the Camera app. Camera is open on iPhone with someone in the viewfinder jumping off of the front porch of a house. There is a countdown in the viewfinder at one second before it takes the photo.
    Step 1: In Camera, swipe up on the viewfinder or tap the Camera Controls button at the top center of the screen to show the menu options.
    Step 2: Swipe the menu options left and tap the Timer.
    Step 3: Choose between a 3-second and 10-second timer. Then, tap the Shutter to start the timer.
