I really appreciate that Gary and his son were willing to do the labor only for my fence installation. The fence panels that I wanted were hard to come by early this season - I was able to purchase materials from a friend and Gary did the install. He and his son were great: first of all, a real pleasure to have around, but more importantly, they did a professional installation along my driveway with a difficult incline, some rocks to navigate and nosy neighbors who were disputing the boundary line! Throughout these difficulties, they remained cool and did a bang-up job. Gary even offered to get me 2 more panels and come back the following week to install, because in the end, I wished the finished fence provided just a bit more privacy. I highly recommend 518 fence - they'll work with you to meet your specific needs and they're just good to be around

They were great. The gentlemen who came and did the estimate was excellent. The crew who came and did the job, came in did their job, and cleaned up. It was great. I most defiantly would use them again.

Over the winter snow & ice cover these steps and they become a hazard to use. Now the steps are safer to use in any weather. The cost was more than I expected, but the quality of the product and the custom installation was excellent! "You get what you paid for."

Dan and Brian were delayed by an hour, but went straight to work upon arrival. They removed the existing panels from the old posts, set the new posts, then re-attached the panels. Brian sawed up the old posts into chunks and offered to stack them by my backyard fireplace! Beautiful job--completed in under two hours. Total cost: $400. (The "other guy" wanted $700!

Contractor arrived on time and ripped off the old roof. Put tarps down to catch the debris and protect the siding, and did a great and thorough job putting the new roof on in a day and a half. Cleaned up the area and made sure there were no nails in the grass or in the driveway. . Very neat work crew. I was very happy with my new roof, the friendly and courteous manner of the crew; and the price I paid. A few months after this company installed the roof, I decided to downsize and moved to a 50+ year old house. I used this company again for the following projects: *Refinished hardwood floors in the LR, DR, and all bedrooms. Contractor did a beautiful job in a shortened time frame as we were planning to move in and needed the job done very quickly. The floors were done flawlessly. *Ripped out an old half-bath and put in a new beautiful tiled full bath. This major remodeling involved creating more room by removing walls, and moving the existing plumbing and electricity. This job was a big undertaking, but it was done quickly and professionally. *Installed wood fence on the property. Job done quickly and efficiently. *Removed the old linoleum in the kitchen and hall and installed tile flooring. The tile looks incredible; tiles were installed in a diagonal pattern which made the room appear larger. Outstanding job, done fast and meticulously. *Painted the kitchen and hallway. Painting was done professionally and the results were exceptional. As you can see by the above list, I have used this contractor many times over and I am never disappointed. The contractor has a vast knowledge of construction practices, arrives on time and with an experienced crew. I am impressed by their work ethic and ability to get complex projects completed on time and within the stated budget

James is professional, reliable, responsive, he is a perfectionist, and I found his price very reasonable. But more than all of those things, James is simply a pleasure to work with, a very personable guy and very good at problem solving.

It went well. Really really well. Ado contacted me immediately. He said he could come by the same day. He was there exactly as he said. He looked at the problems, diagnosed them. Ado was clear on what could be repaired and what would need to be replaced. He did the work quickly and I was happy the results

Admir arrived early and we reviewed jobs that needed to be done. He brought all necessary tools and extra materials to supplement the materials we had that were enclosed with each project. He worked continually moving from one project to the other and conferred with us regarding any questions about the functionality of placement of items. All jobs were well done and we were very pleased with his service. We have already started our next to do list for "Ado!

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
