We had high expectations having used them for a previous kitchen remodel. Still, they managed to exceed our expectations. They helped us design the perfect cabinet, which is beautifully constructed and fits in the space as if it has always been there. The kitchen cabinets look brand new and function better thanks to the modifications they did. In addition to being great craftsmen, they are wonderful people. Seth and Carlos were punctual, reliable, always left things cleaner than when they started and were a pleasure to have in my home. They could have easily stopped there and I would have been pleased but then they went above and beyond and saved us from an impossible situation. The day they were installing cabinet doors, we had a very large office hutch delivered. It was too large to fit up the stairs and so the delivery guys left it in the middle of the living room / dinning room of our small condominium, leaving no space for the sofas that were to be delivered later in the day. Seth and Carlos sprung into action, examined the behemoth hutch, developed a plan, surgically dissected it, got it up the stairs, and then carefully reconstructed it. I must admit that seeing a circular saw go into a newly purchased piece of furniture is very unnerving but to look at it now, you would never know. The sofas were delivered and thanks to our heroes, Seth and Carlos, they didn't have to stay out on the sidewalk. We are now going to have them make cabinets for our dinning room!

My Construction Group

My Construction Group and Abraham more than five stars, I would. I now have a beautiful refaced kitchen. Abraham gave a reasonable quote and was always accessible by text or email. Getting estimates and work done is so difficult and challenging but if everyone was like Abraham at My Construction Group it would be so wonderful. My kitchen cabinets came out better than I could have expected. Thank you Abraham!

They were unique. We had interviewed a number of reface individuals and we were not able to find anybody that was doing a quarter inch facing but these people do three quarter inch. We did solid cherry for all the cabinets reface and of course all the doors, drawers, and pullouts. The drawers are dovetails, solid maple and so were the pullouts. We had them redo some sections because we were doing a little redesign. It looks brand new. They are beautiful. They took a bit longer than expected that would be my only complaint. It took them five weeks. They only had one person in the end and he was doing such precision work that we didn’t complain at all, it was worth it. I looked for years before I picked them and I had found nothing like them at all. It was a large kitchen, there were three small sections that were new and that were redesigned, and the rest were refaced. So it was a combination work.

We had great experience with AKB. Since this was our first ever remodel project, we were a bit apprehensive about the process and the cost. Karl/Joe put us at ease with detailed breakdown of cost and by giving the detailed picture of the process. Their crew was very professional and friendly. They always came on time and listened to us for any last minute changes. The project was completed on time. They gave us significant discount on additional material/labor when they discovered a mismatch between old cabinet hardware and new one (which wasn't due to their fault). In addition they provided us with a consultant/interior decorator to help us select the various materials. Compared to many other places we talked to, only AKB offered this kind of service w/o any extra charge. Joe would come at end of every day to inspect the progress and made sure that the quality of workmanship was great. Overall we were extremely satisfied with how the kitchen came out and with AKB's team of professionals.

Andrew did an excellent job on our remodeling projects, handling the required plumbing, electrical, carpentry and tile work very well. The final product looks great! He is very professional to deal with, provides accurate estimates, does high quality work and has fair pricing. There are occasions when his availability is a bit challenged because of his other contracting jobs, but I guess that is to be expected with a small businessman in the trade industry. I would highly recommend him for your remodeling work. You won't be disappointed.

Century Cabinets
5.0
The project was excellent. The job started and ended in the promised time frame. The workmanship is of the highest quality; it is virtually impossible to tell it was a refacing (rather than new cabinet install). My decorator, who has seen many, many cabinet refacings, was very impressed with the quality of the work. The site was left clean and tidy each day and the cabinetmaker was polite and accommodating. Mike, the owner of the business, is very experienced, good to work with, and an extremely nice guy. I would always use Century Cabinets for similar future work. Estimates from other contractors were significantly higher.

Mark Allen Design & Construction

We purchased our downtown San Jose condo approximately two years ago with the knowledge that the kitchen needed to be updated. While the condition of the kitchen was fine, it was not modern enough for our taste. When we decided to start the process, we interviewed a couple of contractors who, while highly recommended, were a bit high in price. Based on the recommendation of my realtor, I asked Mark Rodriguez of Mark Allen Construction to give us a quote. I immediately liked Mark, as he is very laid back and has a great sense of humor. He explained how he works, what his initial thoughts were, and then scheduled time at the condo to see the kitchen and bathrooms in order to provide a bid. The overall bidding time took longer than expected, but that was due to the schedules of the subcontractors and the sheer amount of options available. If this is your first time remodeling, I recommend factoring in extra time just to go through options. I really liked Mark's overall team. His team of subcontractors was exceptional, both in their work style and approachability. They were patient in their explanations and offered alternatives and solutions in order to save on costs. The project actually took a lot less time than originally estimated, so we were very pleased with that. Mark has a great individual (Dennis) working with him, so he was able to help with unplanned smaller projects such as patch work, painting, and towel rack replacement, etc. We liked Dennis so much that we plan on having him help us with additional home projects shortly. When each piece of the project was completed, Mark not only independently inspected the work, he contacted me to get my thoughts. When things weren't completely perfect and yet acceptable, Mark overrode my decisions to leave things as is and he made the subs re-do certain tasks. I truly appreciated this and it left us with a heightened sense of confidence in Mark. In the end, the project went extremely smoothly. We stayed on budget and the work was completed quickly. The kitchen and baths look stunning and I couldn't have been happier with Mark and team. In fact, I have since asked Mark to replace all of my interior doors and woodwork throughout the house. Once you find a contractor in whom you have such trust, getting things done is so much easier. Mark Allen Design and Construction gets a definite "10" from me.
