"Oren was the best! He came by in August to look at the house and give an estimate & we clicked right away. Very calm and competent and a straight shooter, he gave us a ballpark & the written estimate was pretty close to what we had discussed. The SOD Home Group team demolished basically the whole house, remodeled two bathrooms, installed a new floor around the house, added new stairs and finished the upstairs room, installed HVAC, and completely rewired and replumbed the whole house in 4 months! VERY fast, in my experience! All problems that popped up, and there are always problems that pop up with even small remodels were handled quickly and to our satisfaction; even the ones that were caused by vendors/delivery companies! These guys are more expensive upfront than many contractors, but they did not go over the expected budget (setting aside project creep-my fault- and the unexpected- see having rewiring the house above) and the job was completed quickly and with no "shortcuts" that you might experience with someone else to keep costs down. "AAA is top notch. Jim came out right away to evaluate our HVAC needs, explained the different options and provided us with a competitive quote for two HVAC systems. He was very professional and friendly. The installation team came out first to install the mini-split system, which works great. When we asked to have one of the systems moved to another place in our home, they didn't make a fuss, rather they quickly came out to move it as requested. Then AAA installed our gas-powered HVAC system and it was a tricky installation. They had to flatten out some land and put a concrete slab there to hold the outdoor air conditioning unit and did an excellent job. I was really blown away by how fast and efficient their work was. About a week later, I had them come out to clean the air ducts and they were prompt, efficient and professional. I was very impressed with AAA and would recommend them to anyone. We have worked with so many contractors over the past few months, and AAA stands out for their sincere focus on customer satisfaction and their expertise. AAA gets all As!!"

"I'm a repeat customer. They did a full kitchen demo, design and remodel for our townhouse in 2012. In both the previous job and this year's job (full kitchen, family room, and master bathroom demo, design and remodel), the work was excellent, the quotation was accurate and their timeline was strictly followed. This job was much more complicated but they finished the initially quoted job within seven weeks of starting (late January 2015 to mid March 2015). There were several changes we made mid-project that had to be wrapped up a little later. Kitchen and related work: Demo including removal of floor tile, cabinets, old appliances, old light fixtures, partial wall removal; moving sink and associated plumbing, moving vents and associated HVAC, removing bigger window and replacing with smaller window; update electrical panel for house to meet updated kitchen appliance power requirements; install new LED lights and switches, install new cabinets and appliances; install new sink and quartz counters and subway tile backsplash, install new floor tile, new texture and paint, install new baseboards Family room and related work (next to kitchen): Demo including removal of old carpet, wainscoting, partial wall removal; install new LED lights and light/fan and switches; install new hardwood floor, stain hardwood to match existing hallway, install new baseboards; install new structural support beams and concrete footing. Assorted work around the house: installing room lights and fans in all bedrooms and installing blower in guest bathroom. Overall we were very happy with our completed project and would happily hire this vendor and recommend this vendor to others. For the sake of completeness I list the key pros and a few minor cons. Pros 1. Design and End Result - Mark, the company owner and a senior designer, listened carefully to what changes we wanted to make and provided 3D design drawings in a short amount of time. We had two other contractors bid on this project and we did not get any initial sketches from them verifying that they understood what our final target layout was. One of the contractors wouldn't even agree verbally that he would put the sink where we wanted it. With Mark we knew that what he drafted for us after our initial on-site consult was what they planned to do and if we had any changes we could mark up the design draft and discuss. The work contract is very detailed as well so I feel like they do their best to document and then meet or exceed expectations. 2. Timeline and Schedule - I've heard many horror stories of contractors dragging their feet and missing deadlines. I'm always impressed how well ADH schedules its work and workers so that there are no surprises as far as work progress. They do what needs to be done to meet the contracted schedule. They did start the bathroom and kitchen at the same time and they were planning to finish at the same time but the bathroom did finish first due to some structural work that had to be done on a load bearing wall in the kitchen. Also we added many work items to the initial quotation and they were very agreeable about incorporating it into the initial schedule, to my surprise. 3. Crew - The on-site crew (headed by Vlad B.) were professional and courteous and approachable. As Mark says they are part of the family business. They took pride in their work and they cleaned up every day. I felt very comfortable working around them when I was at home. They were very respectful of our home. Every so often there would be area experts from their staff (hardwood floor install, wall texture, shower marble install) too and they were professional and courteous as well. Cons 1. Payment - After the initial designs are provided there is pressure to put down a deposit to proceed. Given that they were the only vendor that provided designs upfront I think I understand their desire to get a financial commitment but it may surprise some customers. 2. Structural Support - Work was started without knowing for sure if the walls we wanted removed were load bearing. We found out later there would need to be structural reinforcement. We did have to slow down work on the kitchen while that unscheduled issue was addressed but everything eventually got back on schedule. We had several discussions with Mark though and we clarified that the structural support had to be sufficient for a possible second floor addition in the future. 3. Details - We caught some details before installation (noticed some measurement marks in kitchen for placement of fridge and nearby cabinets was off) and a few things had to be addressed after installation (design drawing for bathroom had cabinet above toilet but it was missing from work contract - I should have noticed that earlier, at install, was missing some drawers to be installed in bathroom). Even though we've worked with this vendor before, in general, with a big contracting job it's important to check the details regularly (such as every day) independently by reviewing the contract and informally by discussing latest progress with the on-site project lead. Communication is key."

"Got the Angie's list deal fo the an AC tune-up. We had been in our house for a year and had not had trouble with the AC the year before, but was just covering our bases. At that point in the Spring, the AC had only been on once and seemed to work fine. They came out and really spent a long time doing the tune-up. However, we discovered that our system was actually pretty old, and the repair guy said that he thought one of the parts was on its last leg, even though it was currently working. He recommended that we may want to repair that part, and that the full cost for just that part would be about $400 but he did recommend about $1000 worth of work to fully tune things up. He also said they would send out a guy to discuss how much it would cost to replace the system (I suspect that is just part of their routine protocol when they spot an older system). Knowing that the system was pretty old already, we decided to compare the cost of a new system vs. doing the remaining work to fully tune things up. We scheduled a time for the sales guy to come out about 3 weeks later. Unfortunately, not long before the sales guy was supposed to come, it got hot outside and the AC tried to turn on and no cold air was coming out of the system. We called them back, but since the sales guy was about to come anyway, we just waited to see what the cost of a new system would be. The sales guy was extremely nice and very helpful. Now, he is a sales man so you always have to take everything they say with a grain of salt, but I really do think he was very helpful. There were some very mild pressure sales tactics (e.g. they say you get a discount for making a deal that day rather than having them come back out after you've gotten others to give you other quotes). But really he did not push that hard, and honestly, I would have expected him to do so, especially in light of the fact that our AC had just fully gone out. Ultimately, I told him what I was willing to pay for the system he offered (which was quite a bit lower than he quoted), and he called his boss, and they accepted. The team came out two days later and were very professional while installing the sytem, and very helpful in making sure everything was working well and that we understood how to use the system. Since then, 6 months later, we ended up with an error alert and called them. They sent someone out the next day and found a faulty part. They fixed it within 1 day. In fact, the repairman told my wife that it would normally have taken a few days for the part to come and they had to really scramble to figure out a clever way to get the part, otherwise their policy was that they would have to pay us $500 if it had not been fixed within 24 hours (which I'm sure I was told at one point but had forgotten and would never have held them to it). So overall, we have been very satisfied with their professionalism and service. We also had neighbors tell us they used the same company in the past and thought they were great. I told my sister about them, and she got the same tune-up deal. Interestingly, her AC went out not long after she had the tune-up as well. (Obviously, I began to think this was some sort of scam). But she had signed up for one of their service contracts, and they sent a guy out right away and fixed the problem at a nominal cost. So overall, they seem to be very reputable and do a great job."

"The salesman worked with us to make recommendations and answer all of our questions (even returning our calls on the weekends). He really knew his stuff compared with others who quoted the job. The installation went fine, crew was very professional. The only glitch we had was a manufacturers recall for a small in an air cleaner, the manufacturer was (Trane) not very responsive in providing timing for this part. It was a bit frustrating, but Snelling handled it professionally."

"The bid was negotiated on Saturday and the installation was done on Monday. The negotiator was patient and answered all of my questions and negotiated clearly on the numbers. The installation team was friendly and also answered all of my questions. The job was completed on time and the house looked as clean as when they got there. The office followed up quickly with all the permit paperwork as well as the rebate forms needed. There was also a follow up call to make sure I was satisfied. All in all, a good experience."

"They do electrical and HVAC, but I use them just for HVAC. I had them come install my smart thermostat. They had to replace one of the wires to the thermostat. They got the smart thermostat to work. They just got to work and spent some time educating me about what he was doing. After installing he went over the operation of the thermostat. They tired to sell me on a service plan, which I wasn't interested in."
