A few years ago I learned about object cache, I saw some web hosts were adding it to their control panel but it was very annoying to enable/disable. Then I tried to upload object-cache.php to /wp-content/ for easier management, but I realized it's too difficult to turn off caching. After this plugin, it's easy to enable/disable anytime in the WP Admin. You should remember that sometimes object cache will not help for some websites and might cause more slowness or issues. For other sites, it's amazing. That is why I found it's important to enable/disable easy. Great work and thanks. p.s. I also use his Nginx Cache plugin also, a perfect match!

Using Chrome DevTools for precision, I measured the loading time when Redis Object Cache is on or off. I was surprised to find that when the plugin is deactivated, the site loaded faster. I'd say about 0.3 second or faster. Now when the plugin is completely deleted from the site, loading gets slightly faster. This baffled me. Thinking Redis itself is the problem, I deleted it from my Plesk-run server and loading time became much longer. So my conclusion is that it's the plugin, not Redis that is slowing things down. I just have Redis running without the plugin now and it serves me better. I set wp-config.php properly with the salt_key and everything and confirmed Redis cache was running. Speed is so important to me so I made sure I had everything right. But I think the plugin is somewhat off at least for me. Maybe the pro version is better. But I decided not to use this any more because of my discoveries that it actually slows my site down. Even before I tested it with precision, I wasn't able to tell the difference with my eyes, contrary to the many raves about this plugin. (One person told me it would do "wonders". No it didn't.) I hope I'm wrong and did something wrong, though I'm sure I didn't. It'd be good to utilize this type of plugin for better speed.

Hi Till, thanks for the plugin! Works great, and I just want to report 2 issues: 1. When the plugin is activated on the multisite, and I deactivate it, especially when I deactivate all my plugins at once, inclusively the Redis plugin, it causes a fatal error and the site cannot be reached anymore, inclusively the backend. At deactivation it always causes the white screen with the fatal error and I must rename my "plugins" folder to regain access. 2. It causes my newly created newsletter campaigns (Mailster plugin) to pause right after they are published, and they will be paused forever unless I flush the Redis cache. But starting/stopping Redis does not affect campaigns that are already active. Is there by any chance a fix for this issue? Thanks, best regards!

Do not install on Plesk. If you do and you switch it on on multiple sites - it will screw up your sites: the sites will point to the first site you installed the plugin on. E.g. if you have 3 sites: -Site A - I installed the plugin here first -Site B - then here -Site C - then here Then when I switched on the plugin on all 3 sites - Plesk started to mix up the 3 sites. When I wanted to manage Site B or C -> it always redirected me to site A. I do not know how to recover from this problem...but it truly hurts. I had zero (no) problems with my sites before - all are extremely well managed, fully protected, virus protected etc. sites.
