I love the insides of built-in cupboards - we found some scraps of glorious 1920s wallpaper once. In these ones: subtle ghosts of many layers, and garish traces of previous owner's sloppy paint job over hideous bobbled paper. Eek! #DistanceDrift

1/ Morning! Today's #DistanceDrift is a ghost hunt - with a difference. Rather than spooks, we're seeking traces of the physical: vestiges, remnants, the left-behind; ghost signs, ethereal leavings of objects, marks of the no-longer visible...

Who's up for a #DistanceDrift tomorrow at 10am? I'll be joining in from my ongoing Covid isolation (bah) - but hey, that's where we started from nearly two years ago!

Taking tea out to shed for a change of scene and fresh air. Muddy paw prints on stripy rug, orange fur and patterned wood walls - have I found the tiger's lair? #DistanceDrift

Alas, no tiger feet - these leopard print slippers will have to do. There's certainly evidence of big cats in the house - but where is the tiger? #DistanceDrift

Isolating, so my tiger trail can't cover extended territory. But already spotted a tiger tail scarf by the watering hole (bowl). #DistanceDrift

1/ Grrr! Morning folks. Today's #DistanceDrift is a gentle welcoming in of Chinese New Year. As you wander, indoors or out, seek signs of the Tiger: forms, colours, patterns, text & any resonances you happen upon. Any tigers lurking near you? Share finds as you go or at the end.

It's a beautiful day, wide blue skies, perfect for a big walk, and I'm going to have to look at it through an open window. Yes, I've joined the inmates of plague house, dammit.
