Human rights in Qatar[edit]

Please take steps to add information about recent reports of the death of migrant workers in Qatar in 2021, most of whom were South Asians and were reportedly being overworked by their masters and forced to live in poor working conditions. It should be added under the Human rights section.

Looking forward to your response.

Thank you.

This sub heading should be more appropriately be renamed "Lack of human rights in qatar"

Why has the section about assault of dozens of women at the airport been removed? This is a whitewash in preparation of the FIFA world cup in 2022. After qatari officials forcibly removed dozens of women from waiting airplanes and then sexually assaulting them on the tarmac there has still been no apology or compensation. There has not been any proper investigation. If you are a woman in qatar or even just passing through your life is meaningless to qatari authorities.

Change https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kassite link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kassite_(mineral)

The original link to the mining site redirects. 2003:C1:B730:C801:45A:ECD4:8CC3:E46B (talk) 10:18, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: I'm pretty sure it's correct as written. The references to "Kassite" in this article are referring to the Kassite people, not the mineral kassite. The photograph in that section of the article isn't of a mine that dug up kassite, but an excavation of a historical site used in the Kassite people's dye industry. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 13:26, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:31, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To reflect Qatar's questionable human rights situation on the lede section to achieve balance as a middle power. A sentence such as "Human rights in Qatar has been regarded by scholars as being generally poor, with restrictions on individual rights such as freedom of expression, as well as its usage of hundreds of thousands of mostly South Asian migrant workers for construction projects in the country." could be placed at the last paragraph. 123.213.223.39 (talk) 05:44, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. Goldsztajn (talk) 21:12, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
