Geoblocking of Hathitrust in Europe[edit]

Just a note that this website is geoblocked in Europe and the article currently reads as though it is open access for all countries of its partners, which it isn't. Partners located outside the US collaborate with the website but their own constituent countries cannot view the content. Jane (talk) 16:05, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jane023: Jane, can you provide a good source for this? Is it all the countries within the EU, individual countries, etc. Peaceray (talk) 17:42, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Granted I am a sample of one, but I cannot reach this website in the Netherlands or Germany, but I can (from the same devices) in the US. Just ask anyone in any country who is trying to access this website from an IP address that is not from one of the partner institutions. Jane (talk) 17:49, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The website seems to block access from non-U.S. IP addresses to the full text of works no longer protected in the U.S. but not necessarily so in other countries. Works unequivocally in the public domain globally indeed appear to be accessible from anywhere. Nardog (talk) 06:01, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
