WordCamp Europe 2019 announces its call for speakers

  • Experts are invited to share their knowledge with WCEU attendees

  • Deadline for applications is 7th January 2019

  • Focus for 2019 is Front End and JavaScipt Frameworks

One of the largest WordPress gatherings, WordCamp Europe (WCEU), has announced that it has begun accepting talk applications for its 7th annual conference. Taking place in a different European city each year, the event will be held in Berlin, Germany next year.

WCEU welcomes everyone and aims to form and strengthen connections between European WordPress communities and beyond. It includes two conference days and a separate Contributor Day, when people gather to give back to the WordPress Open Source Project.

The event will hold at the Estrel Congress Centre with two formats for talks:

  • Long talks – 40 minutes in total, breaking down to around 30 mins for talk & 10 mins for questions.

  • Lightning talks – 10 minutes each, grouping related topics together.

The organising team have mentioned that it is open to all topics in relation to WordPress and Web Design/Development. Having carried out a community survey that called out Front End talks as the most sought after, the focus for the year 2019 are Front End and JavaScript Framework Talks.

However, like every year; Marketing, Business, Blogging and other related relevant topics are wanted as well.

Attendees who range from developers to business owners are particularly interested in: Advanced development, Accessible design, SEO, Project management, Storytelling, Agile frameworks, Culture, Scaling up the business, Success stories, Working remotely ‘best practices’.
